i have been to the czech republic twice (5 weeks total) and have been all over CZ stayed in perhaps 20 towns and villages (towns such as sumperk)….i rented a car.
Hello, I’ll be going from Prague to Cesky Krumlov then Cesky Krumlov to Vienna.
My grandma has a summer cabin in total shi*hole where only way how to get there without car is go thru 1 km of jungle and I mean like it's forest on hill where you can barely go thru, so 1 km feels like whole day expedition to unknown land and you never know if you find way to train stop and ofcourse, train is going like once in 2 hours, when you miss it, you just walk on rails to civilisation. Don't ask me how much km it is, you just walk. 😀
I always really enjoy your videos. This one was well timed as I've been looking at train & bus times today for my 17 days travelling around Czech Rep. in September. Been re-watching several of your things to do in Prague videos as well. Can't wait.
There’s also a direct bus from Prague (Letnany) to Litomerice 👍
As always, excellent, relevant advice! Thank you Valery ❤️
Ha, that explains why we had a lovely unplanned 1hour stay in Kolin when we visited Kutna Hora.
RPS’s!!! We always get great stuff from you!!! I am currently on a road trip through Texas with my oldest son. Today we stopped in the Czech part of Texas and ate Bar BQ! So I am watching from a hotel in Austin. Tomorrow we will go to the German part.
Valery we will be in Prague on Christmas day 24,on train from Poland, and fly out 2nd jan25 do you guys have parties Nye
. In Australia our home there is a big fireworks show over Sydney harbour. You should come down to Aussie for a working holiday,we love your accent
I think people drink on the train because it´s really cheap (25kc 0,5L with regiojet).
PD: I was in Sbrsko station last month, I am surprised you were there in the middle of nowhere lol
I was wondering when valerie was going to use her sense of humor…. Ouch, I guess its going to be at the end ouch. lolz
We took the bus from the Florence station to Cesky Krumlov. Florence… beautiful place! We almost found an official person who was not only helpful, but friendly as well. Almost.
'Alright Bye' made my wife and I really laugh. 🙂
I will be looking forward to seeing the angry comments from people who find a place other than Florence Station that is more peaceful.
I once took a train in Czechia. Because we didn't know how long we would stay in the place (apparently the tickets are bound to time) we decided to buy our tickets at the station whenever we were ready for it. Unfortunately we had to find out that that station didn't had tickets machines, the ticket desk was already closed and the online tickets you could buy with a Czech bank account or a credit card. We had neither. In the end we had to call someone that did had a credit card to buy the tickets for us.
So, pay attention to that and avoid the mistakes that we made.
I must watch this one again. Wonderful video Valery!!!🙏🌹
W Czech Women, like that lovely lady that hosts "Real Prague Guides". I think her name is Valery?
Labour camp? Well no doubt that was an efficient way to collect up those who suffered from an addiction to the Opiate of the People and divert them into productive employment. 🤔
I cannot stand the new name…
❤😂😂😂 great video 👏🏻
I took the wrong train from Kutná Hora back to Prague, the lady at the desk told me it was direct but it wasn't. When I got to Kolín, the train started moving backwards: PANIC! I left the train at the first stop in the middle of nowhere, but it was at that moment that an experienced ticket inspector, a red-haired angel (not much red hair on his head though), hopped off the train as he noticed me and my dumb and lost expression. He didn't speak English but helped me get back on the train, did his best to make me understand that I had to get back to Kutná Hora, showing me the timing of the next train on his phone and also pointing at the right train from the window. Just one of the many kind people I've met in the Czech Republic! One thing I didn't understand though, and many tourists like me didn't either, is how you get a seat on a train: do you need to clarify that you want to reserve a seat when purchasing a ticket? Because a guy on the train started repeating "rezervace minibar" until we left the seats to him. First, what the hell does "rezervace minibar" mean? 🙂 PLEASE EXPLAIN! Also, I guess he paid for his seats and you can not sit there and you have to pay for your seat beforehand? I'm asking because when buying the tickets no one asked if we wanted to get a seat.
Those bus schedules are crazy. I am Czech and I always stare at it confused. The city bus schedules make so much more sense.
Oh the joy of having a Czech bus driver practically throw change at you because you had a 100 Kc note for a 35 Kc fare. Been there, done that, and sat in the back of the bus to hide my shame.
wow subtitles? 😀
You say "Litoměřice," and I reply, "gesundheit!" Great explanation/tutorial.
what? thats all? I tought you will show us that place 😀
I can yell and speak to random strangers in English and German. Will that work?
I downloaded tgat app for transport but i dont see that i can buy tickets in it for trains as a senior. Do i need to buy in person to get the discount?
My Canadian friend did travel by train from Prague to Bratislava, she was absolutely horrified from seeing so mana public intoxicated people 😂 that was a cultural shock for her!
Correct, you would look pretty, screwed…………..

Lovely girl ❤
About the transfers between trains, it is useful to use local apps that show the correct platform for the next train.
6:10 just use idos.. when you click on the train schedule it says which platform you have to use, it will save a lot of time and you won't get lost.
