Paris, France, circa 1958

Located at the intersection of the Bassin de la Villette and the Canal de l’Ourcq, the Rue de Crimée bridge is almost invisible in the 19th arrondissement. However, it has a special feature that is unique in Paris.
Since its commissioning in 1885, the Crimée bridge in the 19th arrondissement of Paris has seen over 9,000 maneuvers every year. And with good reason: this infrastructure is the last lift bridge in Paris. Linking the Quai de l’Oise to the Quai de la Marne, the Pont de Crimée crosses the Canal de l’Ourcq and is operated from the control room of the first lock on the Canal Saint-Denis.

  1. Rien à voir avec Villeparisis, c'est le quartier de Paris du 19ème arrondissement avec son fameux pont levant de la rue de Crimée. Et plutôt 1958 d'après les automobiles !

  2. Nothing to do with Villeparisis, it is the district of Paris in the 19th arrondissement with its famous lifting bridge on Rue de Crimée. And rather 1958 according to cars!
