Naples, Italy: Is Maradona Still a God in This City? | Football, Culture, Street Art

What do you know Naples for? Perhaps it’s the famous pizza, Vesuvius and, of course, Napoli football team and Maradona. But though the city is filled with Maradona souvenirs and graffiti, Naples is much more than that. In this video, we’ll explore the real Naples, from its bustling markets and rich street art to its deep ties with the Camorra. We’ll visit iconic sites like the catacombs, try local delights like Neapolitan baba au rhum, and will try to understand why is it known as the garbage capital of Europe. Discover the charm of historic buildings with towering ceilings, the chaos of urban traffic, with scooters all around, and the beauty of places like the Toledo subway station. Join me to uncover the true essence of Naples!

  1. There are definitely neglected and abused areas in parts of many cities in the US but garbage, graffiti, and neglect is not the standard in US cities

  2. i cannot find the photos now to verify, but i think i passed by some drawings by this artist Jorit, when I took the train to Ercolano and they were some really incredible beautiful paintings on apartment blocks! Separately, it was difficult to hear the audio when you were asking him questions after some time. In the future, would be good to have the text/subtitle burned into the video maybe..

this video reminds me fondly of my first trip to Napoli and yes i was surprised about some areas but overall, i would definitely visit again. i didn't even realize i was in some 'dangerous' areas until watching your video. there was only one evening where i felt unsafe, but it was also my fault to be curious about a destroyed car with burned tires and broken glass, parked on the road 🙂 yes i was not really smart about it 🙂
