Portugal may be a small country, but it packs a punch with its diverse landscapes, architecture, and food. We’ve been twice now, including for a friend’s wedding, and each time we’ve enjoyed its charming and vibrant neighborhoods. Tips and recommendations to make the most of your time below ⬇️

General Tips
🥧 Eat all the pastel de natas (egg tarts). Try them with cinnamon on top too, just not as much as in the video 😅
💳 Tap your credit card to pay for public transportation. No physical card needed!
🏰 Do a guided tour of Sintra to save time
👟 Wear comfortable shoes – the cobblestone streets are pretty but will wear you out
😎 Bring sunglasses – the streets are white and reflect all the sunlight
🐟 Eat the seafood – Portugal is right next to the Atlantic Ocean and fresh seafood features in many local restaurants
☀️ Wear sunscreen – Lisbon has an average of 300 sunny days a year
📅 The best times to visit are the off-season from March to May or September to October. The summer months are still good but more crowded
