Day 4: Transit from Berlin to Krakow, Poland, Best of Central Europe Trip with G Adventures May 2024
Today was transit day, from Berlin, Germany to Krakow, Poland, and the next leg of our trip, Best of Central & Eastern Europe, with G Adventures. Our mode of transport was mini-bus and this enabled 3 spots on the way, with the last being at the beautiful Plawniowice Palace, Poland.
On arriving in Krakow, our CEO, Christin, took us on an orientation tour of the city centre and the main sights, followed by a traditional Polish meal with Polish music, singing, and dancing. Enjoy

It looked a very windy Poland and the food looked…..interesting! I noticed you did not try and pronounce the Palace name and I can see why – what a mouthful. Very interesting architecture and gardens, not sure about the oldie worldly dress ups mind…. Nice big bed in 1B and I remember my grandmother having a sewing machine exactly like that one – shabby chic indeed. The square was very impressive with a lot going on and a nice steady pull up to the castle but although I love hearing church, bells there seemed to be two different groups trying to outdo each other. Sorry Andrea but had to LOL at the encounter with the wild horse🤣🤣🤣, cheers Alan

Brace yourself you're gonna be flooded with comments on how Poland is not Eastern but Central Europe…oh the sacrilege! Checz, Poles are more than likely to go livid when referred to as eastern europe. Jokes as aside although it is a funny phenomena, Eastern Europe is just a bad brand in the minds of most, so small wonder people try to distance themselves from it, invoking geography and history (Czech will go with HRE, Habsburgs and Mitteleuropa concept, Poles with something else, whatever fits the narrative. Baltics for example have magically now become Nordic and so it goes or as the joke goes: how do you know you're in Eastern Europe? when everybody tells you it's Central!

Why do you say "Eastern Europe"? Why do you hate us "Ashley"? Why do you continue to perpetuate the old East vs West stereotypes. We're more Western than you. We're still Catholic.

The irony of people emotionally knee-jerking about the Eastern European concept/label and yelling 'no it's central!' only confirms and re-inforces their perceived inferiority complex – when observed from the outside this phenomena outright comical.
Hi Ashley, Hi Andrea. Apologies for the delay , I’ve been on holiday myself so a lot of catching up to do. Krakow looks a beautiful city, some amazing architecture and your hotel looked amazing, I like shabby chic.
