Juju Island, Korea – Trying the famous Jeju Black Pork
I am now on Jeju Island, also known as the Hawaii of Korea. It’s the biggest and most popular Korean island and I am here to cheeck it out. So, the goal is to get impressions of Jeju Island and find out if Jeju is worth visiting. Also, I heard that the island is very famous for its Jeju black pork. Apperantly, it’s the best pork you can eat in Korea. I tried lots of Korean food in the past weeks on my journey here in Korea, but I haven’t had a proper Korean BBQ experience yet. I would like to try the famous Jeju Black Pork in a Korean BBQ restaurant. Join me as we explore Jeju Island and try the famous Jeju Black Pork.

Don't go there, the island is full of lots of foreigners who enter with the benefit of visa-free rule, and you will be likely to get ripped off at stores.

Just arrived in here in chongmuro , 8am, slept and woke up with a lot of rain outside, I thought I left the storm in Philippines, hehe, I'm excited to explore the place and visit meongdong and some other nice places here in S Korea, we have another 7 days to do just that :-). Hi Ken I love your YouTube videos in Korea my fav country. It makes me reminisce so well, I have tears. I visited 3 times, 1st time for 6 months and stayed with Korean family each time. They are so friendly and welcoming and take you everywhere & introduce you to friends who will take you somewhere, omg. It was heaven and I said, thereโs no way I could reciprocate all these favours and kindness in my own country Canada. Not so many friends and country too big and expensive. For westerners, especially retired and with Korean friends, itโs the best place to be. Now am a grandmother and not well enough to travel but I miss this country and my friends so much ๐ข. I really wanna go back. I really wanna see all your Korean videos. Kamsahapnida for your videos.
Also I meant to say Ken, ask someone what these small black dolls represent, they will laughingly tell you but I canโt. Theyโre made of volcano lava from Jejudo. You may have found out by now. Let me know ๐
I had many advantages of learning so much with my Korean friends. And their sense of humour is out of this world, too bad I missed out on so much of that.

Under the system, people pay for waste treatment in proportion to the amount they dispose. As a result, many people have dumped their household trash into public trash cansย to avoid paying the fee. That prompted the city to gradually remove trash cans from the streets

Also, starting mostly in hotels in different areas around Malaysia and Korea. How much did 1 month cost you in each country (average)
Great vlog. Very similar experiences to my first trip to Jejudo in 2017 when I also stayed in Jeju City. The next two trips to Jejudo I stayed on the South Coast which has more of a tourist, holiday vibe and has many hotel resorts. You can still swim there when it is raining, the sea temps are surprisingly warm in summer (warm currents coming up from the south). You should have tried the anchovy sauce at the BBQ, its a Jeju speciality and tastes amazing! You should have tried Haemultang which is a seafood stew, its amazing! If you go again, explore the south coast which has some spectacular views and some nice beaches too (see Jungmun beach).

You usually only have people cook for you at higher end bbq restaurants. That lady was very generous with her time showing you different flavour combinations for ssam (lettuce wraps).
I wish I could remember the names of the places we visited on Jeju Island when we were there in 2010. We stayed at the Lotte Hotel and took a tour of the island. I love your video of the food. We had good food there at the hotel, but not on the bus tour. We did see the lava tube and an area well known for art. Jeju is considered South Korea's Hawaii, however, having spent many a time in the Hawaiian islands, I do not believe Jeju comes even close to being like Hawaii. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our weekend on Jeju.
Do you know what Jeju black pigs are fed?
They are fed FECES. My wife and I learned this when visiting back in 1995.
Haven't eaten black pig for 29 years now.
