Day 64 of our world travel sabbatical

We spent 4 days in Lisbon and Palmela, Portugal as country 6 of our sabbatical primarily for a very important event.

We budgeted our costs across these categories:
✈️ Transportation (flights, subway, Ubers)
🏠 Lodging (Airbnbs)
🍛 Food (🍰🐟🥚🥧)
🎉 Activities (very important event)
📲 Other (health insurance, e-SIM, luggage fees)

🥚🥧 We did a pastel de natas (egg tarts) crawl to 3 different places, and they were delicious. Wish we ate even more!

🏠 Have to say, the disappearing staircase was one of my favorite features I’ve seen in an Airbnb.

🎉 The very important event was our friend Aditi and Adhi’s wedding! What an amazing experience celebrating their South and North Indian wedding together with them in a legit castle overlooking the most beautiful views. Please remember to bring water on your future hikes 💧🙏

🤑 Everything is quantifiable from a budget perspective, but the memories…were priceless 😍

Our daily budget we’re trying to stick to is $250/day as full time travelers and we spent:

Country total = $1,229.40
Daily average = $307.35
Total running daily average = $252.74

At $307, we’re over our $250 daily budget for Portugal and our running total is also over too 😒 What could we expect when this is the 4th country in a row we’re over budget 🤣

Country 7 marks a new leg of our trip, as we head to Eastern Europe so guess we’ll try to save more there 💰
