Erfurt Travel Guide: Tips for Visiting Germany’s Hidden Gem
When you throw a dart between Leipzig and Frankfurt, you land in magical, mystical Erfurt Germany in the well-preserved medieval state of Thuringia! We had a few days to kill between pre-set locations and our hearts (and the people of the world-wide web) told us Erfurt was THE place to be.
Erfurt absolutely shocked us- in the BEST way. We didn’t know what to expect having done zero research on what to do there until we WERE there. Listen, we had just the best day. From the historic cathedrals and churches, to the walking streets lined with fairytale buildings and traditional restaurants, up to the Petersburg Citadel and through the river that gathers families and young-in-love couples alike on a hot summer day, every thing was just PERFECTION.
