What ever you do, do not fly with Turkish air. They will bump you from your flights and rebook you on low cost partners. Their customer service is woeful. Do not book.
I hate to say it but I fly with their business and by far they are way better than any American or European counterparts! Except maybe Lufthansa, they do have good service as well ! Rest is garbage!
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the experience my family and I had on our recent flights with Turkish Airlines. We flew on Flight TK76 (Vancouver to Istanbul) and TK1845 (Istanbul to Athens) on August 28th, as well as Flight TK1844 (Athens to Istanbul) and TK75 (Istanbul to Vancouver) on September 14th. The level of service, particularly in business class, was far from what Turkish Airlines advertises and is well below acceptable standards for any airline claiming to provide a premium experience.
Repeated Seat Changes Due to Airline Actions – With No Notification. Before our flights, we booked business class seats months in advance, selecting specific seating arrangements to accommodate our family of four, including my mother-in-law who has mobility issues. Despite this careful planning, Turkish Airlines changed our seats twice with no notification.
To be clear, these seat changes were due to your airline's decision to change the plane, not any action on our part. Yet, when we raised this issue with customer service, it was treated as though our frustration was unreasonable, which is simply unacceptable. It is not unreasonable for a customer to expect that seat selections made well in advance, especially in business class, will be honored, or at the very least, communicated if changes are necessary. Instead, the lack of communication and failure to resolve the issue added tremendous stress to our travel, especially as we had carefully chosen seats to keep our family together and accommodate my mother-in-law’s mobility needs.
Despite signing up for your Miles and Smiles platform, which was supposedly intended for such notifications, we were informed of nothing. I discovered the seat changes when checking our flight status in July, and after spending over 8 hours on the phone with customer service and sending multiple emails, I was finally told that there was nothing that could be done. I was then directed into a feedback loop that resulted in a frustrating and endless circle with no resolution.
"Bait and Switch" Business Class Experience. The stark difference between the advertised business class experience and what we actually received was shocking. The seats and cabin were nothing like the images Turkish Airlines promotes online, which feels like a classic bait and switch. Additionally, the in-flight service fell far short of expectations. The meal service dragged on for over two hours, and trays were left with us for extended periods, making us feel like we were at a self-service station rather than in a premium class cabin. This is unacceptable for any business class offering.
Suspicious and Uncomfortable Behavior by Cabin Crew Across All Flights. I had hoped that these issues were limited to one leg of the trip, but the poor service and odd behavior were consistent across all four flights. One of the most unsettling aspects of the experience was that the flight attendants acted more like a security team than cabin crew, which made the atmosphere feel uncomfortable and even suspicious. Instead of offering the warmth and attentiveness you'd expect in business class, the staff seemed more focused on monitoring passengers than providing service. This certainly did not leave us with any sense of comfort throughout the flights.
No Faith in Your Feedback Process. While I would welcome the opportunity for Turkish Airlines to rectify this experience, I have little confidence that my concerns will be addressed, given how poorly my previous complaints were handled. It is crucial for Turkish Airlines to recognize that these seat changes were entirely due to the airline’s decisions, yet customers like myself were left to deal with the consequences and treated as though our frustration was unfounded. This is far from acceptable customer service, especially in business class.
As such, I feel compelled to share this feedback as a warning to other potential customers. If anyone has the option to fly with a different airline, I would strongly recommend doing so. Turkish Airlines’ failure to communicate effectively, honor seat selections, or provide the premium service they advertise is incredibly disappointing.
At a minimum, Turkish Airlines must improve communication and responsiveness to customers, especially when changes—caused by the airline—affect seat arrangements or flight plans. It is not the customer’s responsibility to chase down resolutions for issues caused by your operational decisions. I am still open to discussing possible resolutions, but based on my experience, I remain skeptical.
I love Turkish Airlines….but they have been declining the past two years with the addition of new Aircraft and growth….I think, unfortunately in the near future I will no longer fly them.
I did not enjoy good customer service last Winter and Spring.
Finally, Turkish airlines listen to me and too many people to make their business class with closed doors or private doors thank God finally Because when they took the Russian airplanes they supposed to be for Russia and Turkeshi took those the airbus 350s. They used to have a cabin and a lot of people told why you don't do your airplanes this way so they finally I believe they listen. I cannot wait for the flight from Istanbul to Sydney in 2026 will be airbus A350-1000 ultra range plan the new system I'm very amazing to see this. Wow wow wow like now they are the number one airline in Europe deff I feel so sad for them that have ordered more than 200 airplanes and they supposed to get from this year 50 of them but airbus and Boeing are postponing their deliveries and now Turkish airline. It's part of Albania and they cannot give them the used airplanes like 10 of them to the air Albania so they can expand and become bigger because they knew airplanes didn't arrive yet .
I think the only thing in business class they should make the cabin little bit higher So I don't want my head to be outside my cabin
I hope Turkish Airlines will open a direct flight connecting Incheon(Seoul) and Antalya. For South Koreans who love golf, Antalya is like heaven!!! I'm sure Turkish Airlines' revenue will increase significantly if it allows the steps of countless golf-loving South Koreans to head to Antalya instead of Southeast Asia.

Does 2-3-2 seat still exist? I like the 1-2-1 seat for more privacy.
