Giacometti ‘Walking Man’ at Fondation Maeght

Welcome to Fondation Maeght in Saint Paul de Vence, France on the Côte d’Azur. Fondation Maeght has one of the finest collections of Modern sculpture in the world with especially strong holdings from Albert Giacometti and Juan Miró, both of whom spent time in the area.
One mistake from my narration. When Claude Monet came to the area, he prominently painted Bordighera, Italy, not Ventimiglia, Italy.
The Côte d’Azure is a pilgrimage site for art lovers around the world as Matisse, Chagall, Renoir, Signac, Picasso, Bonnard, Derain, and many of the other leading names of early 20th century French painting spent considerable time here.
Sorry I don’t have better weather to share with you.
