❤ from NZ. Keep up the brilliant updates. 😊
Wonderful! I'm constantly amazed at how skilled the Romans were – amazing craftmanship – whilst the grain stores may not have been scintillating, it's still amazing how they designed and built such sophisticated structures – that are still standing – without lifting gear etc. I like the fun they had naming the train Ouigo – given the French hate the ruination of their language by more and more English words it surprising as Ouigo is very Franglais! Look forward to the next installment as I was due to cycle from Carcassone to the sea along the canal du midi but it was a victim of Covid and never rebooked.
Thank you for this – we visited Narbonne in 1990 when we were 2 Kiwis wandering around in a campervan. We got the local train there from where we were staying in Avignon. I remember a pleasant "old town" with some Roman artifacts, but the museum etc was not there at the time.
Another great video James!
James, this vlog’s intro is – fall off your chair laughing material – gilded further on by your – “ we’re almost fluent” – hilarious. 2024’s Trip Extraordinaire only hints at the weeks/ months spent masterfully attending to details, while sharing your finds like Ryan Air “ like” trains, and Pro Tips for wonky ticket machines are invaluable .At 1 st blush Narbo Via appears nothing more than an extravagant ( massive) French shelving system….that is until Stuart demonstrated, then it became riveting. Happy as well to see you’ve sustained the maximum 90 minutes between refueling…the photo ops always look delicious. Arm chair travel at its best..well done.
Strange to hear Narbone instead of the correct Narbun pronunciation.
