Walking Tour of Darmstadt: Hochzeitsturm, Platanenhain, Bacchusbrunnen & City Center | 4K 60 FPS

Join me as I walk through the historic Mathildenhöhe neighborhood on the east side of the beautiful city of Darmstadt, Germany. We begin near the iconic Hochzeitsturm, designed by Austrian architect Joseph Maria Olbrich. Completed in 1908, this five-fingered tower was a gift from the city of Darmstadt to commemorate the wedding of Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig and Princess Eleonore zu Solms-Hohensolms-Lich on February 2, 1905.

From there, we explore the serene Platanenhain park, a perfect spot for families, with its beautiful sculptures and peaceful atmosphere. This walk was recorded during the spring of 2024, and while I’m a bit late in publishing it, I hope you still enjoy the beauty of this area. Along the way, we also visit the Russian Church and the Bacchusbrunnen fountain, each with their own unique charm.

Continuing down Beckstraße, we pass the lovely Woog Familienbad, where families can be seen swimming and enjoying the evening. Finally, we walk through a nearby park that leads us towards the city center, though we’ll save the city center for another video—stay tuned for that one coming soon! 😊
