I Found The Most Underrated Country In Europe! (#194)

When I was growing up, you never heard much about Eastern Europe, other than that it was poor. There was the rich, expensive countries of Western Europe like Switzerland, and then there were the cheap, “backwards” nations like Romania. You went to Western Europe to make money and you went to Eastern Europe for a cheap vacation, and that was that.

Well, one country is really changing up that whole stereotype. What if I told you that there’s now a large country in Eastern Europe that has a higher GDP per capita than Spain and Portugal? It’s an innovative country with a bright future that people are moving to. Even though it spent the last century being kicked around by it’s two much larger neighbors, nowadays…🇵🇱 is being a power all of it’s own.

  1. 31:40 what those people mean is, Nazis were not some random people which came from "all around", like the narrative being pushed through the last decade claims along the lie that concentration camps were Polish. Nazis were mostly German, and so is the responsibility for the committed atrocities. It might feel weird, but the topic is very important to the Polish people; our heroism during WW2 is something we cherish deeply, while there are not many things which makes us more angry than being blamed for something we fought against, especially when it's pure evil.

  2. Polish people in general really appreciate when you use words like dziekuje (thank you), dzien dobry (hello/good morning), przepraszam (excuse me/sorry), dowidzenia (good bye) etc. It might looks silly but in reality when we see someone trying to learn few very basic words it means a lot to us. It does not matter if u pronounce them correctly or not, even if its not correct it will give us a little smile.

  3. We want to be called Central Europeans, mainly because being called Eastern Europeans is basically like a PTSD for the nation, because this kinda assosiates us with Russia which we want to be separated from (not the people or anything but rather country and goverment itself) due to stuff like "PRL" (Polish People's Republic or simply "Communist Poland"), stuff they did to us during and after WWII ect.
It's geographically accurate to call Poland a Eastern Europe country, however it is considered rude to call us Eastern Europeans.
You won't get killed or beaten over calling us Easterns but you definitely gonna get some sideyes at worst and will get politely informed not to call us that at best lol

  4. The text-intro to this film shows how people in the so-called West know little about the world – how poorly educated and essentially intellectually backward they are.

  5. 11:21 The old old market square was only partially destroyed. 11 minutes of watching a video and… there is a man who talks about things he knows nothing about. So embarasing.
Tip for the author: Read just a bit about a country and the city you are going to visit before you're gonna start making your videos filled with made up stories.

  6. I'm originally from Poland. And I made my way back to my home country after almost 40 years living in the States and UK. I love it out here. Even tho times are tough and most other Polish people tell me I'm crazy for returning, they don't seem to realize that America is not as great as it used to be. Perhaps one day it will once again. For me living mostly in Southern California it has gotten quite boring to be honest. Here in Poland I can see more. Do more. If I get bored there are many other European countries I can visit by train, car, or plane. But the bottom line is, its home.

  7. Ukrainiec nie umie dzień dobry po polsku mając od polski wszystko A autor filmiku uczy się podstaw będąc na wycieczce. Oto różnica jakości ludzi.

  8. food is as expensive as it is in gemany or uk but half the wages, most expensive electricity in whole europe…social basically not existing, taxes are ridicules, so yeah , unemployment is low because people are forced to work for minimum wages 5.5gbp per hour….fuck that

  9. Your description is way off.
Poland isn’t located in Eastern Europe. We share the same ethnicity and language group with Eastern Europe, but have as strong, or stronger cultural and economic ties with Western Europe. Geographically we are exactly Central Europeans.
Also Poland is a developed, or, as you incorrectly name it, first world country…. This is really giving you a bad look tbh. Smells western superiority complex even if completely unaware…

  10. Thank you for your nice movie from Poland. Actually, it is very sad that you met these kinds of ppl in Poznań, but to explain to you, we have very broad educational system in history, biology etc. in the end, we don't know the basic knowledge XD most of the monuments in Poznań are connected with the uprising in Wielkopolska region. I'm glad that you were able to speak with some Poles in English. Mostly, people deal well with foreign languages, but they are afraid of speaking and making some mistakes. looking forward for some more Polish cities 🙂 im sorry for my english but iwas in a hurry trying to write smth that clearly explain some weird thing wthin ppl from my country 😉

  11. Central Europe, not Eastern Europe. With all due respect to our eastern neighbours we Poles are very picky about it. Compared to countries east of us -Latin alphabet since like forever, now diminishing but still present (especially in socio-political sphere, sadly) influence of Roman Catholic Church, centuries of alliances and influences shared with Western allies like Italy, France and so on. As others said, we get quite upset when we hear the term "Poland is Eastern Europe"
