Iโ€™m taking you to Kyoto Tower Sando hidden just below the base of the iconic Nidec Kyoto Tower and unknown to many, directly connected to Kyoto station through an underground passage. And at the time of filming this, itโ€™s so surprising how little to no lines there are given that the food is so reasonably priced and rivals the taste of any shops youโ€™d find at many of Kyotoโ€™s traveler destinations, which is why this is has become one of my go-to spots after and before getting off the train with itโ€™s traditional Japanese dishes and unique Kyoto specialities. Hereโ€™s the skinny, the first floor hosts souvenir shops, the second floor has a workshop type area and the basement B1 floor is the Food Hallโ€ฆ.and where this Kyoto Food Adventure begins as I show you some of my top hitters

  1. Agreed with an earlier poster, this was impeccable timing with us being in Kyoto just 2 days after the video was uploaded. This food hall is amazing and has a great vibe to it. So good we went twice. Did the wagyu burger, gyoza, pancake and beef bowl. Highly recommend all of it, especially the beef bowl.

  2. I tried the nicks wagyu burger today thanks to your recommendation. Though it tasted nice, I wasnโ€™t satisfied at all. Especially with its pricing. 5000 yen for a meal like that is just stealing in my honest opinion. Not to mention compared back in America the size wouldโ€™ve been 3x bigger. I wouldnโ€™t recommend.

  3. Honestly didn't realize you were saying souffle at first because of your emphasis on the first half of the word instead of the second.

  4. Thanks for another great video. When you got to the burger place, I was like no way he can eat that after all the other good stuff. ๐Ÿ˜…

  5. On the pronunciation of caramel, watching this video led me to do some research and I discovered that both the two and three syllable pronunciations are common in the US although the more common one varies by region. Therefore, I would like to advise using whichever pronunciation comes naturally. Personally, I am used to the three syllable pronunciation common in British English although I have been involved in the argument over whether to pronounce "scone" with a long or short "O".

  6. Hey Paolo!

This video somehow snuck into my recommendation list when I was planning my trip to Japan. And we decided to check out Kyoto Tower, and OMG these pancakes are so damn good! Thanks for the recommendation!!! We are still here for another 5 days exploring what other hidden secrets this great city has to offer.

  7. Haha, 'car-a-mel' vs. 'ca-ra-mel'. I pronounce it the same you do. I think the pronunciation is an American vs the rest of the world kinda thing.
Being from the UK and living in Canada, I of course pronounce it the correct way LOL.
That WWW burger you had looks absolutely amazing. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. The burger is good but thatโ€™s not wagyo and they donโ€™t put much and it cost 32$-38$ depending on fries and drinks, itโ€™s good but expensive and not true to the video quantity

  9. ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ‘‹Hello Paolo San๐Ÿ˜Š Greetings from Singapore ๐ŸŽ‰ Can you advice which part of Japan is best to go this November 2024 for 8 nights (first time traveller here๐Ÿค—)? Also less crowded, less rain and nice autumn scenery๐Ÿ™

  10. I was in Tokyo this June and Paolo your recommendation of Kaijin ramen was FANTASTIC. This November I'm going to Osaka and Kyoto and I'm sure as hell to visit the two wagyu shops you just recommended! Can't wait!!
