  1. finally someone who says that we eat at 2 pm (realistic) instead of 4 pm (remember we are in the same greenwich meridian than the UK, but we add one hour to the clock since the years of the world war II, so it is like if we ate at 1 pm).

  2. It’s been years following your channel and the content is always excellent and it’s nice to see how the editing and the quality of the videos gets better and better. Eres un crack!

  3. I love been back from Spain for a few days and I accidentally went to a tourist trap. I was so upset 😭! The place had great reviews but I could tell the way they served the tapas and how they looked that it was all a sham. It didn't even have the typical tourist trap look.

  4. I love the food at Tapas Bars, but I was very off put by the common habit of Spaniards throwing their used paper napkins on the floor. We ate so many plates of tapas ankle-deep in dirty, crumpled paper. Has this grubby habit improved, or is it still common?

  5. Thank you so much!! We leave in 11 days and my has been watching these videos with my but he is very nervous about the language barrier and about being "brave and bold" so I think it will all fall on me 😅so I need to hear this stuff! Since we don't speak Spanish we have tried to familiarize ourselves with some phrases and travel terms but thank God for google translate!

  6. Just came back from 3 weeks in Spain and Portugal. We were on a bus tour which was an awesome experience and we saw a lot of amazing things. The people on our tour were primarily from Australia, United states and Canada. After talking with a number of the people on our tour it seemed there was general agreement that the food sucked and the locals are not friendly. As for the free tapas, a couple times we got a few potato chip and once we were given olives. A lot of the places sell tapas starting at €3.00

  7. I just subscribed to your account so haven’t looked through all of your videos, but do you provide any other interactive Google maps for other cities, other than Madrid?
We are going to spend almost 40 days in Spain next fall, so are trying to learn as much as we can .

  8. The hunting down the waiter is a real one. I'm very used to it so in other countries, when I have the waiter constantly checking on my table, I get kind of upset because I feel the they just want to push me out of the bar! In a Spanish bar, if the waiter does that it's usually kind of rude. After they've served your first meal/round, they won't come unless you call them.

  9. In Spain you don't say "por favor" when you are paying for something. That's an English thing. In Spanish it means as a 'favor', and as you're paying for the caña it's not a favor.
I was told this many years ago by a camarero in Tenerife. If you ask for a glass of water then yes, because it's free.
    Ahi lo tiene.

  10. The restaurant I worked at had a system that you just put in the amount paid in card and gave the change as cash so we could then put that in the tip jar so there was no problem with card tips

  11. We just got back from Spain. We tried following all of your advice and recommendations. We visited "Casa Tony" (we had to queue up for like an hour but we had lots of fun once in). The amazing Victor was our server there. Thanks for all of your work guys!

  12. I think that not everything is so complicated. When you are a tourist, whether in Madrid, Berlin or Beijing, you will always fall into some tourist trap. It is inevitable and it is part of the charm of travelling. My recommendation is to avoid restaurants close to monuments and tourist areas, avoid restaurants where there are photos of their menus, avoid places recommended by guidebooks, which were surely good a few years ago. My advice is to walk, walk, ask the locals and go into places where there are a majority of locals. A restaurant full of tourists is simply a restaurant for tourists.

  13. We studied your videos and made sure to visit everything on our trip to Spain last week! We LOVE LOVE LOVE SPAIN!! Can I ask… why are the locals so RUDE? It’s like daggers being stared at you the entire time. Madrid was the most noticeable.

  14. Hello. I am Spanish and my recommendation is that you never eat in places that have branches or that specialize in tourists. Look more in the neighborhoods and the real typical bars.
