Fulda City Walking Tour | Germany π©πͺ – 4K
_______________
Fulda is a city located in the state of Hesse, central Germany, with a population of approximately 70,000 people. Fulda was founded in 744 AD, centered around the Fulda Abbey, a Benedictine monastery. It’s not a typical tourist city in Germany yet when traveling between East to West (like Erfurt to Frankfurt) it is worth a stop. Fulda has been an important pilgrimage site due to its religious significance. One of its most prominent landmarks is Fulda Cathedral, constructed between 1704 and 1712, where the remains of St. Boniface, a key figure in early German Christianity, are interred.
On this walk we can see Fulda’s well-preserved baroque architecture, including the Orangerie Palace, built in the early 18th century to house exotic plants. Fulda also hosts one of the oldest baroque theaters in Germany, the Fuldaer Schlosstheater.
We walk an hour around the old town see the best of Fulda before we end at the train station.
