Cab Ride Salzburg – Munich (Austria & Germany) train driver’s view 4K
In this video you can enjoy the cab ride – train driver’s view from Salzburg in Austria to Munich in Germany along the Rosenheim–Salzburg railway and Munich–Rosenheim railway in 4K/60 frames per second.
Join us on an incredible cab ride from Salzburg to Munich along the Rosenheim–Salzburg railway, a key international double-track, electrified main line connecting Bavaria and Austria. This scenic route passes through the beautiful landscapes of southern Germany, running from Rosenheim via Traunstein and Freilassing to the vibrant city of Salzburg. Between Freilassing and Salzburg, the line features an additional third track to accommodate the high volume of international traffic.
The journey also connects with the historic Munich–Rosenheim railway, a 65-kilometre double-track main line opened in 1871. Starting from Munich Hauptbahnhof, this line links to the Rosenheim–Salzburg route, which continues toward Vienna and further international destinations. It also connects with the line to Kufstein, leading toward Innsbruck and the iconic Brenner Pass to Italy.
As part of the Main Line for Europe, this route is crucial in connecting major European cities like Paris, Bratislava, and Budapest, and is integrated into the Trans-European Transport Networks (TEN-T), specifically on Line 1 and Line 17. Electrified at 15 kV, 16.7 Hz, this line ensures smooth and efficient long-distance travel across borders.
Enjoy the full cab ride experience as we travel along this important international corridor, offering breathtaking views and an up-close look at the seamless operation of European rail travel.

Hey Bro thanks a lot for a wonderful video! Do you have any plans for München Hbf – Mittenwald, it´s also a wonderful bavarian landscape 🙂
Wie hast du das gemacht ?? Du bist kein Kollege der BRB!
Jazda ku zachodzącemu słońcu…z Salzburga trzeba wyjechać RANO a z Monachium po południu
Tom from HUNGARY.❤🤍💚✌✌✌
Unfortunately, this interesting route (Maximiliansbahn) is in parts very desolate and has to be closed again and again for construction work and maintenance; in 2027 there will be a total closure (Salzburg – Rosenheim and Rosenheim – Munich for almost half a year each). During this time the trains will be diverted via the Giselabahn (Salzburg – Bischofshofen – Zell am See – Wörgl) or via Passau. But you can always experience it in the driver's cab at RailRelaxation; it will soon be seen in the other direction too (Kufstein – Rosenheim – Salzburg).
Ist diese Strecke mit einem Deutschlandticket erreichbar?
Hi and thank you for the next great ride. 😊👍🏻 Greetings to Slovenia 🙋🏼♂️
Heimat😍 Grüße aus Prien!
Sehr gut. Für diesen Ausblick bekomme ich sogar Geld. 😁
Buona giornata.
Ciao.
I like sunset trips. Especially how the lighting changes. Very beautiful. Thanks)
Just to add, in your description Haar, Trudering and Berg am Laim are missing the "S-Bahn" labeling – these are also stations only served by S-Bahn.
And you missed Großkarolinenfeld in the description (between Rosenheim and Ostermünchen, at 1:15:52) 😉
Is this game or real?
Where do you live?
Nice route! We certainly already knew the route from Rosenheim to Munich which in my personal opinion is less nice because it is almost entirely immersed in the woods. However the journey is smooth immersed in the Bavarian countryside and the Chiemsee, the "Bavarian Sea", with a lot of rolling stock including the German Henschel diesel locomotives with the round nose. The smaller stations in Germany would need a major restyling but the line is still going well. There is also a lot of BRB rolling stock and I had wanted to see this line for a long time. Good! If you have the opportunity to return to Germany there is the line that connects to Lindau on the Bodensee and is a double diesel track and passes through beautiful landscapes. See u soon!
As a railway enthusiast from the Munich area, I know the route well, having visited various stations along it many times and traveled sections as a passenger, it's nice to see it from this less accessible perspective. Mostly cloudy skies are even an advantage at the time of recording because the setting sun is not blinding 😉 It's strange that the train never exceeded 140 km/h despite sections with 160 km/h PS S7 goes from Kreuzstrasse via Ostbahnhof Donnersberg Harras to Wolfratshausen dont via Südring
