This air b n b made me feel like i was in Jamaica!

My daughter turned 1 on June 8th, so i decided to rent an air b n b with a pool to celebrate!
I’ve waited all my life to have a Summer birthday, and now i have a Daughter with a Summer b day, so now I’m just living my dream through her lol! My birthday is in March.
Anywho…..
This air b n b was everything plus more than I expected it to be. Besides the fact the owners left me a review, that left a bad taste in my mouth. From the beginning of our stay we knew that they had a very strict cleaning policy even though you had to pay almost $500 for service and cleaning fees, they still expected for their home to be cleaned spotless upon your departure. Ln top of that, they requested i take the garbage cans to the curb for trash pickup day, which j had no problem doing. Before we left, we cleaned this place top to bottom and only left two trash bag/ms, and leftover condiments that we purchased and for the next guests to use, clumped together on the countertop. The owner wrote in the comments that we had left the place a mess, and they were very disappointed at how we can treat their home with so much disrespect. I wrote a long complaint yo Airbnb because this was completely false. It Just goes to show how everyone is on edge in the world and will literally do anything to bring US down, especially in this climate and in our conversation surrounding race, privilege, and racism. I will link the Airbnb below, but please be advised that I’m not really sure what their intentions were behind writing such a bad review, for no reason besides It being a race thing.
Beyond that, it was amazing to bring Allen and my family together to celebrate Summers’s birthday. When we first got there, Allen cooked a huge dinner, we just relaxed all day and went for a night swim, and then ended the night making s’more’s by the fire pit.
The next day we did some more relaxing. we got to enjoy the pool and just soak in the time we had as a family.
With everything that is going on with the police brutality, Karen’s roaming around, and racial injustices, on top of COVID-19, this was an amazing quick escape from our harsh reality.
This is the longest I haven’t been on a flight in the last four years. I had plans to celebrate my daughter‘s birthday in the south of France and then eventually meet up with my friends in Greece. Although I really miss traveling there’s nothing like being around family during the time we are expected to disconnect.
We were very safe during our stay.
I just want to remind everyone to please take some time for yourself and just breathe. It’s OK to step away from the fight and deal with our mental health, and then eventually come back to it.
