  1. Hi yes please talk about how you do what you do, and some other ways to travel and get paid. And if you know anything about what it's like there in Albania that would be great! I know someone from the Balkans and she warned me to stay in the bigger cities as a single woman. Finally if you know anything about housesitting in certain areas?
Great video! Thanks so much!! <3

  2. Albania is a beautiful country it’s true and has lots of positives but just to make people aware Tirana is not without issues. The major one is air quality, it’s a very polluted city with horrendous traffic and no control on car emissions. No one ever mentions this. Nearly everyone smokes everywhere and you will not be able to breathe any fresh air. The Lana river running through the centre is just full of sewage and stinks. The weather in the city is unbearably hot in summer and the apartments are very cold in the winter.
I’d say yes try Albania but don’t live in Tirana it’s a very unhealthy place to live.

  3. Anchorwoman quality (it sounds silly but I DO mean it). I like the precision of your reviews, and the occasional scenic footage in between, and the microphone which is a refreshing change from the more recent recording gadgets. If you don't mind sharing, I would be curious as to what it feels like to be a black American in Albania. I am an Albanian who's been living in the States for 25 years, and while I agree with what you said about Albanians being welcoming, I'm also aware of my fellow countrymen's curiosity/ exuberance which is often misinterpreted as racism. Thank you!

  4. During my “let’s explore the Balkans” wanderlusting moment a hundred years ago (though not really, cause I’m not that old 😅) I visited Albania many times and learned the languages a bit though not well. I will say this though, share the countries beauty and culture, though when you happen upon a hidden gem keep that so secret. The country’s beaches were in a Lonely Planet list years ago and people from other European countries started flocking to them which stressed the infrastructure at the time.

Learn about Besa, speak Albanian as often as you can, find friends, and be discerning if and when you decide to date (tell them you plan on staying in Albania forever and see if their interest is still there). Have fun! 🎉

  5. Hi. Just found your channel. I'm a native New Yorker moving to Tirana 11/22/24. Been there twice already and it reminds me of a mini NYC. Cost too much too live in US now. I've been to europe 5 times and will live out my life there. Hope to meet up soon.

    Mario

  6. great vid. I passed through Tirana a couple years ago and its really special – so cool you moved there! as for reccs: I had an amazing seafood platter at Kripe dhe Piper and a traditional Albanian meal at Era Villa 🙂

  7. Are you sure you can just travel around Europe and come back to Albania without issues though? Because if you stay the entire year there you are still required to wait 90 days to return, so what is the cut off timeframe of that being true? Or do you intend to go elsewhere for 90 days and reset your allowed time anyway?

  8. Smart.. Albania has the best travel visa for Americans.. Albania is a Greek Island.. move out of Tirana though it's a big city.. Albania love us just stay true and real and they will watch out for you forever. Never scam or trick Albanians just show love

  9. We love Albania! We have visited three times (Tirana March, Durres June, Tirana November) in 2024 and always look here first to take holidays. We are two Americans who live in the Netherlands. Eindhoven Airport offers direct and cheap flights to Albania, so it's the perfect getaway spot for us. Our favorite pizza spot in Tirana is Pizza Seni. It's tucked away from the busy streets, but we love the people and atmosphere. It's definitely worth a visit! Enjoy Albania <3

  10. I also moved to Albania. I am an Albanian American but originally from Kosovo. I already got my residence card, and live in a smaller town north. Wish you a good time here.

  11. As someone who traveled extensively before, we gotta stop glamorizing nomadic lifestyle.

Frequently traveling is brutal… cultural and language barriers can be stressful. Constantly navigating new cultural, customs and communication issues takes its toll, especially if you’re in places where you don’t speak the language fluently.

Also, Travel burnout is real. The constant packing, planning, and adjusting can wear down even the most adventurous spirit

I’m so glad I stopped the nomadic lifestyle and came back home. I missed my family.

  12. be aware of the conflict between serbia and albania (Kosovo war) and stay away from that end of the country, allegedly the albanian secret police still snatch people for organs

  13. A London-born, Lagos-raised, previously La-based Nigerian here who has been global roaming since 2020. What have I learned? America and its Global North companions don’t deserve our time, labor, or attention. I hope we continue to see a trend of us leaving America. Who will do their labor then? Hope to see a collective group of smart entrepreneurs paving the path for our exit at mass.

  14. So happy for you. Many of us dream of being able to do the same. I wish however that you zoomed in the video to make the conversation more interpersonal

  15. America has been rotting for decades. My daughter and I are moving to Vlore, Albania in a few months. The people are notoriously kind and wonderful, the food is spectacular, and for 300.00 I can have a beautiful apartment with a 3/4 balcony and a view of the Ionian snd Adriatic seas.

Oh, and basically zero crime 🇦🇱🇦🇱🇦🇱

  16. Welcome to Tirana. I've been here about half a year. It's definitely not perfect but any place that ticks half my boxes, and has easy residency, is okay to stay in. But after the 12 month mark, I'll prob be out. I wanted to love it but started to see/notice things that made me second guess life here. Good luck to you, though. I hope it works out.
