Freiburg, Lahr, Achern, beautiful towns, and 2 great stopovers on Black Forest Autobahn – Vanlife UK

These really are gems of places and probably a couple that you may not be familiar with but well worth a visit.
Freiburg is a vibrant city full of impressive buildings and lots of eateries and bars. We stayed overnight at the Wohnmobil Stellplatz at the Messe which had a tram stop right outside so quick and easy to get into the centre.
Lahr was so pretty, we had seen images of it and it certainly didn’t disappoint and we could easily have spent more time there.
Achern is an attractive small town just off the Autobahn and nice to wander around with lots of Gasthaus restaurants. We did see a small motorhome park up here but did not use it.
The veterinary practice we used for Dylan’s tapeworm treatment was very close to the Autobahn at Baden Baden, you do need to book ahead, it was excellent service, not expensive and they spoke good English, details are below.
We had a stopover at Wohnmobilstellplatz just outside Ettlingen which is a little further north and lies south of Karlsruhe, it felt very safe and had a few facilities for getting jobs done.
