Valletta is the capital of the island of Malta, it was founded in 1566 by the Knights Hospitaller who gave it the name of their grand master Jean de la Valette. The city is the main cultural center of the island and has a unique collection of churches, palaces and museums, representing one of the main tourist attractions of the island.
Enjoy this walk among crowded streets, ancient buildings, churches and the cathedral and the “Saluting Battery”, an ancient ceremonial platform from which cannon shots are fired twice a day.
