traveling europe to escape my quarter-life crisis

im traveling to 16 cities in europe. Im visiting new cities, revisiting cities and meeting up with my long distance friends.

I am a bit lost in what im doing with my life there were a couple of options i could choose like running a marathon, doing a masters, changing your hair style, and i chose the latter and traveling i guess 😀 Life is strange…

  1. I have the problem too but my problem is different from yours.

My problem is that I am burned out with my job. I don’t know how to deal with this situation or how to fix it.

I tried free AI tools like Gemini or ChatGPT for resolve my problem

Okay, they are bots, but they work. They help me generate new ideas to do new things that help me recover from burnout.

I hope what I shared gives you new ideas to you

  2. I'm sure you'll find out what's more suitable for you. Don't expect perfectness (unless you're in a movie) and also, those cycles will come back.
Been there and now I'm on the "small and peaceful village by the sea (a lake more preferable) mood".
But I live in a big city, so …

  3. You're such a wonderful human being! I used to think that people around me have it all figured out as well. It's weird how others think the same about me, and im sure a lot of people think the same about you. Taking a break to smell the flowers helps. What you're doing will help you get the answers you seek, I promise you.

  4. Your videos are so nice and give out a cozy vibe if it makes sense, also i think they're the most down to earth, feeling burned out is normal, sometimes you just gotta take some time to yourself. Figuring out what place you want to call home is a very important decision that's also very tough to work out so I'd say to take your time and dont overthink it. If youre drawn to big cities but at the same time the chaos of them seems like a little too much i recomend living far away from the city centre (but with a tram/metro line for conviniece). This is the conclusion that I've come to and honestly i think that its the best of both worlds.

  5. I think the hardest truth for me is that any place can become home once you stay there long enough. Even the gloomiest city ever. And yet after it becomes home you will still complain about it. It's just that way, this is always about getting used to and non stop minor annoyance about something, even after falling in love after years of struggle. And it's harder to get used to something not knowing the language, constant battle

  6. I love the mix of wholesome travel impressions and deep, existential dread rearing its head throughout the entire video. Judging by the rest of the comments, these 20-something-crisis-feelings are not uncommon, I definitely share them too. Jumping into the YT game full-time seems like an obvious choice for somebody in your position, but as a viewer I would much rather see the occasional video from you that you really enjoyed making, as opposed to a regular program of typical "traveler influencer" content. I'm glad for everything you put out. Watching your videos has encouraged me to take on more solo travel this year, just going to cities I've always wanted to visit and learning how to rely on myself a little bit more. Thanks for that! I hope that no matter what you do next, you'll have fun doing it. So have a good time on your next trip! If, after your public exile from Germany, you ever dare set foot in the capital of Niedersachsen again, I'll buy you a coffee. Take care.

  7. Read the description and thought:
    Quarter-life – check
Started a masters this year – check
Changed my hairstyle for the first time in six years – check
Feeling a bit lost because many of my friends are settling down – check

and when I thought this video couldn't be anymore relatable…

you went to Strasbourg where I lived for a year and recognized every shot (except maybe your friends underwear lol)
you went to Copenhagen and walked all day and were exhausted afterwards (100% my experience, when I went to Copenhagen)
you went to Basel with a friend who lives in the black forest (which I did as well, the last time I visited a friend in the black forest)

  8. erika, follow you since… last year! found you while looking for tips on Strasbourg i think… ? anyway, i travelled the world extensively, spending even a year traveling nonstop. and the tip to not feeling tired, of course, is to stay longer in each destination. 20 days to 2 months even? i know u have to make content and keep traveling but use a city as a base -as u are doing with your dad's and do small trips around making video about places around you . doesn't matter the place, what we like about your video is the way you write, your funny comments, the little things you enjoy seeing – the city is not really levant because you can get stone out of water, this is your talent. report on tiny places and make it fun just because you're so special. good travels! ps: take vitamins!

  9. This is only the 2nd video of yours that I've watched. I like the realness of your videos, so I've subscribed.

In both of your videos, you come across as having a very Swedish vibe. I live in Sweden and love it here. At the beginning of your video, when you were wondering where to move to next, I thought she'd totally fit in Göteborg. Then you went there! Haha! I hope you liked it.

  10. You've seen other people do better than you. So what if they do. The main thing is your story and your channel, not everyone else channel. Just do them for the sake of your own history and future family even though you have already made so history already. If your channel or anything goes wrong on YouTube you can always place them into a recorder or flash drive and keep it for your family. Also, it's always OK to make new plans everyone does them time to time. History always has its limits.

  11. i do like your personal style, its less hype focused than other travel channels, more of a laid back and chill experience…which might be why it doesnt do as well with the algorithm maybe? i dont know. just do more react bait like "10 REASONS AMERICANS ARE SHOCKED IN EUROPE (NUMBER 7 WILL SHOCK YOU EVEN MORE)"….jk hope things work out for you and your approach to vlogging and all that.

  12. Hey hey. I think it is important to say that your videos are amazing, girl! Slices of life is much more real and authentic than just "the 5 thing I like and I have about X city D=".

Ah, also important to say. No one has things figure out ever… When you do it, it only lasts for some months, then you start questioning yourself all over again. That's just life!

  13. Good. Suddenly, you abandoned your preconceived ideas about places you had in another video you disliked just because you had the idea of it being boring, then you actually went there and it seems you loved it. Big move forward, huge step, and finally growing up. Good on you.

  14. Girl let me just say that you're not alone. And probably everybody is telling you that but I am feeling the exact same. Writing you this from my hostel somewhere in rainy Thailand, trying to escape my quarterlife crisis. I don't know what I'm doing. I've been feeling like this for about 5 months and I kind of tried to let go of the feeling that everything is perfect and controlable. I feel like only time can tell what we need 😉

  15. Here's the thing. It doesn't matter where you live. A house is a house. A country is a country. What makes a place your home (and you can see it in this very video) is finding love.

  16. Well making things that you like its awsome, but the catch is around the corner and it`s not to make it boring and casual like job. Because in that matter might change for what you do this. Through this vodeo was cool to see that in every place could find friend`s. I exhausted from place that I live and always my desire was at least change location in the city if not completly region of country. This video inspires me to live anywhere but have possibility to find a friends. I`ve made this decision after words that long-distance friends make you to continiue trip.

  17. Hey Erika, I remember being in my 20s and I felt exactly the same. I thought that living in the other city will change things. But actually the change had to be made inside me, not outside, and some time must pass to feel it. So everything will be ok, just have to wait for it. I'm looking forward for the Polish episodes. Consider seeing Gdańsk, it has the Netherlands' charm.

  18. Hi Erika! I'm not good at writing comments or giving compliments, but I want simply to say that I'm always waiting for your new videos. It feels cozy, peaceful and always giving me positive vibes. It feels like we are friends I don't know how to describe this feeling :))

  19. Hello Erika, your videos are so real and relatable, like chatting with a friend. Your mix of humor and honest reflections is inspiring. Thanks for sharing your journey—you’re one of a kind!

  20. I LOVE watching your videos over all other travel videos. It's because you're just real. You always tell a great story that's just about you. You don't do cinematic, but that's what makes you awesome. 100% authentic you, and I love it! Keep doing what you're doing. We'll all be along for the ride, and thank you! 🙏❤

  21. I know how you feel, it's hard to find ourselves and what we want to do, I live on my own as well and I am 34 and being always on my own can be tough at times, I am a foreigner in UK so yeah thanks for sharing this and being open with us about how it is to travel and to move about far away from home. I'm sure things will be better soon Erika, I'm certain you will find your own route and perhaps even a life companion you know. sending you a hug from here, stay strong girl!
