We did the exact same thing in Italy – a ticket arrived, we ignored and it ended up 400 Euros too!
Hey guys, I recently found your channel and really enjoy what you guys are about – Thanks!
I am a N. American and in 2008 rented a car in London and got the same type of late, post return, charge notice for some type of damage after I returned home. It cost me $300. I still have a bitter taste regarding the UK as a result. However, I love Europe and not wanting this to happen again, I did some investigating in for my 2017 trip and discovered there were two (at the time) long term European car rental programs through the car manufacturers. I forgot the name of the other one, but I did a 6-week rental with Renault and was very pleased and would like to do it again someday. The cars are BRAND NEW and the car insurance is included. I flew into Frankfurt Germany, and they picked me up and dropped me back off at the airport when I returned the car. When I returned the car, I inquired about doing a final walk around check, just to cover all bases having had the UK experience, and they said it does not matter as insurance is covered in the contract. Beside special offer emails (which I subscribed to) I never heard from them again. I forget but I think they define long term as over 15 days. Perhaps this may be an option for you if you guys do long term rentals. I have no affiliation with anyone and just want to share what I know. Thanks again for sharing your experiences with us!
And getting an automatic was not an issue!
And they have pick up location all over Europe and you can drive anywhere in Europe.
I forget but I believe by renting the new car once, the manufacturer is able to take advantage of a legal loophole and sell the close to new car quickly because the European buyer gets a break on VAT.
Muy bien, eh?
Cell phone photos also have a time stamp
Thank you great video great advice fantastic attitude, keep up the good work❤
What kind of a car would you recommend for a Familia of 3?
Is there GPS on rent a cars.
Do all rental come with low emission zone access
Please make sure you don't put on the ear piece while driving on the highway in Spain. I was stopped by the highway patrol and it cost me 200 euro.
Hello, is it possible to rent a car at 18 years old in Spain? I have a valid US drivers liscense but it seems many of the companies require you to be 21.
Very dissatisfied with Europcar Spain.
I have used Europcar for business regularly, and occasionally for personal use.
I hired a car for two weeks for the first part of a two month Spain holiday. I was prepared to hire for a further month later I the holiday, but my experience in Barcelona soured me on them.
I returned my hire car to Sants Station Barcelona, with no information about where to return it, and no signs, I parked where I could, knowing I may have to move the car once I located the returns area. I found the Europcar Returns and told them where I'd parked. The staff said that was ok, and took the keys and parking ticket from me. I said I could move it, but was told that it was ok. A week later I got an extra charge on my account for €42.65, "Parking Fees". At no time was I informed that I would have to pay "Parking Fees" to return the car. If I'd known, I would have insisted I move the car and only paid €4.
Europcar Customer Service has been useless.
