Information:
Strasbourg, often referred to as the “Capital of Christmas,” is renowned for its enchanting Christmas markets, historic half-timbered houses, and picturesque canals. This walking tour takes you through the city’s iconic locations, including the majestic Strasbourg Cathedral, the vibrant Petite France district, and several of its famous Christmas markets like Place de la Cathédrale and Place Benjamin Zix. Along the way, you’ll encounter stunning landmarks such as the Palais Rohan and the Vauban Dam, as well as charming bridges like Pont du Corbeau and Pont Saint-Martin, each offering a unique view of the city.

History:
Strasbourg’s rich history blends French and German influences due to its strategic location along the Rhine. Founded by the Romans as Argentoratum, it flourished during the Middle Ages as a key trade and cultural hub. The Strasbourg Cathedral, completed in 1439, stood as the tallest structure in the world for over two centuries. Today, the city’s Old Town, or Grande Île, is a UNESCO World Heritage site, celebrated for its well-preserved architecture and deep cultural heritage.

Tourist Tips:
Strasbourg is best explored on foot, especially during the festive season when the Christmas markets are in full swing. Arrive early to avoid crowds and make time to visit quieter spots like Quai des Bateliers for a peaceful riverside stroll. Be sure to sample local delicacies such as tarte flambée and mulled wine at the markets. Don’t miss out on capturing the magical evening lights around the Cathedral and Petite France for unforgettable photos.

  1. I just discovered this channel and immediately subscribed! I like the quality but I like it the most the close captioning video descriptions.
    Greetings from Houston, TX.

  2. Hello! Why do you NOT shoot what is in the stalls? We are interested in the stalls. None of you actually do this. So why go out and walk and do not shoot what is in the stalls?? It is driving me insane! What is the point? I didn't even finish watching beyond 10 minutes because you skipped the damn stalls! The cathedral is here year round. WHY bother with that now. And if you have not figured out that Strassburg was GERMAN, if you cannot understand the architecture of the places you go, then i do not see how you are even a tour guide. Again, this was stolen from Germany!

  3. Thanks a lot… Strasbourg is very romantic, with the presence of water, trees, a lot of beautiful bridges, I appreciate you went to Pont Guillaume and district of the School des Pontonniers, so many places to discover in this magic city going further than the center. Merci beaucoup !!!💝💖😻Astrid, France.
