DESCRIPTION: We’ll start our journey into Burgundy (or as the French say, Bourgogne) with a visit to Beaune, the medieval town at the heart of the Bourgogne wine region. Next, we’ll explore the CitΓ© des Climats with Laurent Delaunay to get an introduction to the region and learn about its famous limestone soils, before enjoying lunch with him and his daughter at the museum restaurant. Afterward, we’ll visit Fromagerie Alain Hess to sample some cheese, including the renowned yet funky Γ‰poisses, which was once named the best cheese in the world! We’ll pair it with a traditional-method sparkling wine, CrΓ©mant de Bourgogne, from Paul Chollet. Next, we’ll delve into the appellation levels of Bourgogne (RΓ©gionale, Village, Premier Cru, and Grand Cru) before heading north to the cool hills of Chablis to explore Chardonnay vineyards rooted in ancient Kimmeridgian soil. After discussing Burgundy’s iconic grapesβ€”Pinot Noir and Chardonnayβ€”I’ll join Terroirs by Adeline for a cooking session, pairing the dishes with wines from the CΓ΄te Chalonnaise. In Beaune, we’ll stop at Athenaeum, a unique wine and food bookstore unlike any I’ve ever seen. Then, we’ll travel south to the laid-back MΓ’connais region to enjoy Chardonnay with Domaine SΓ¨ve. Following a visit to the Moutarderie Fallot mustard factory, I’ll sit down with four winemakers from the CΓ΄te d’Or in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet, one of the world’s most famous wine regions. Finally, we’ll end our trip with a hike at the Rock of SolutrΓ©, reflecting on our time in this incredible region of Bourgogne.

  1. Vince, you first inspired my wife and I to travel to Piedmont in 2023, now you got me thinking about Bourgogne. You and your crew have become exceptional filmmakers, story tellers, and focus on what wine should be about. Family, community, and tradition.

  2. You guys can't imagine how much I crave for new episodes. This is my favorite show right now, and it always delivers.

I'm not a big fan of Bourgogne wines because, well, I'm not a millionaire. But it's nice to see the place and the people that lives there and participate in the wine and food scenes.

  3. A truly beautiful and respectful tribute to Bourgogne, capturing the elegance and character that defines its wines. I especially appreciated the focus on small, family-owned producers, which brings a refreshing and authentic perspective beyond the usual big names.

  4. As someone who is completely obsessed with Bourgogne as well as a passionate Bourgogne collector let me say Bravo πŸ‘. Well done. This episode was beyond spectacular. I can’t express how much I enjoyed this. Thank you so much for taking the time to show how unbelievably amazing Burgundy is. Keep the phenomenal content coming.

  5. Hi, you are doing great job with your episodes. This was magnificent. I was in Burgundy but I have learned lot of things with you. Ps. you should consider to come in Croatia on wine ture πŸ™‚

  6. Hi Vince, what a fantastic episode, I felt bad consuming such great content for free, so I donated 50$. Keep up the great work! Cheers from the French/Swiss border.

  7. I get a sense of how much passion you have for all things wine. Every episode is an educational lesson in wine, food culture, history and geography. Not enough can be said of the video quality, storytelling, audio and editing on this channel. Your small but mighty team is on another level. Thanks for the amazing content. 🍷
