Visit the Château de Chambord at Christmas without the crowds

In “the Valley of a Thousand Castles” (Loire Valley, France) the château de Chambord is renowned to be the mightiest of them all.

Chambord is a lot more than a majestic castle. It sits in the heart of the scenic Sologne region of France, surrounded by a vast estate owned by the French state, the “domaine de Chambord.”

During the Holidays Chambord is breathtaking both inside and out.

In 2024 lavish interior Christmas decorations (the perfect match for Chambord’s breathtaking architecture) were created by 50 apprentices of Paris’ National Florist school and students of the Blois School of Horticulture.

At night when the château closes its doors and crowds have left, the façades are lit up, and Chambord dazzles visitors.

Best way to enjoy Chambord: Spend a night at the 4-star on site property, the “Relais de Chambord” (it comes with a spa and a Michelin-recommended restaurant, “Le Grand Saint Michel.”)
