Walk In Paris 551:
A virtual walk in Paris, in the 11th arrondissement, along rue Saint-Sabin, Paris, France.

It is named after Charles-Pierre d’Angelesme de Saint-Sabin, squire, lawyer in Parliament, and alderman of Paris from 1775 to 1777.
The current rue Saint-Sabin corresponds to two parts of the counterscarp path that ran along the outer ditch of the Charles Quint enclosure.
The street has borne its name since the rectification of its route inaugurated in 1777 at the same time as rue Amelot during the demolition of the bastion of the Porte Saint-Antoine and the filling in of the ditch of the old rampart.
In 1868, the “petite rue Saint-Pierre”, located between rue du Chemin-Vert and rue Amelot, was attached to rue Saint-Sabin.
