Campervan ROBBERY attempt at Verdon Gorge? | France Vanlife
This weeks video turned out very differently to how we’d hoped. Verdon Gorge has been on our hitlist for some time now, and we were super excited to finally visit. The thought of kayaking through the gorge, or renting a paddle boat seemed great!
However, it was only a thought, as shortly after arriving at Verdon Gorge we saw some very bad reviews in terms of cars and vans being broken into, and things being stolen!
Needless to say we didn’t want to leave our campervan conversion alone for too long, but what we didn’t expect is to witness suspicious behaviour around our van whilst we we’re there, in broad daylight!
Not wanted to dwell on the events, we quickly moved on and found some incredible places to explore, one of which being Le Colorado Provencal, which just has to be seen to be believed!!

You did the right thingβ¦I would of done the same thing. Itβs your pride and join and does sound suss. Have fun & enjoy! And most of all stay safe
Van life does look so appealing, but the thought of being broken into is, I'm sure, on everyone's mind. Stay safe
Been there done that, but i drove along the gorge (up the river) and it is breathtaking in places. There is an old track that goes along the gorge which you can walk and it tunnels through the mountain in places (requires head torch!). Anyway enjoy your travels!
Definitely C**k rock πππ
Great video as always ππ» what a beautiful place ππ» you 100% made the right decision. Itβs a shame that others have to make you feel pushed away like that isnβt it π€
So glad all is ok, horrible when something like that happens, makes you nervous about leaving your van, we caught a bloke on our security camera wandering up and down our van and crouching down at the back of it, we were in Wells a nice place and was going to park the night in the carpark but left after seeing that, checking underneath for tags before we went!
Never question your intuition!
I think, (and I'm sure you guys do too), have saved your van being broken into there.
Great vids, keep up the good work π
Better to be safe than sorry even if they didn't break in a attempt would of cost you and spoilt your trip. keep safe you two.
13:15 that's what you call "rock hard" π
Luke rock, 100%
Loved the scenery. And stay safe guysβ€β€β€
awsome video guys. nice scenery. well done trusting your instinct and glad nothink happend to taco his a lovely cat
We also would of left that car park, no worth the risk. The does look amazing shame about the car break ins.
Went in peak season this summer when very busy. Parked close to main Rd so felt comfortable leaving the van with the amount of people about.
Great video guys , I know a lovely little campsite there where you do a few early morning sessions. I had them to low 30's earlier in the year .
Have look at Just Touring. They stayed at a very nice campsite at the bottom of the Gorge Du Verdon
I dont think that France is so dangerous, just the touristic spots attract the criminals.
If it donβt feel safe trust your instincts .
Been there a few times in car and two motorhomes Rented electric boats and kayaks to go up the gourge.
Never seen nor had an ounce of trouble Great area You could just be a bit paranoid
Don't get me wrong I also get paranoid if i tead on park 4 night it is dodgy.
Good call! It would be horrible for your car to be broken into but for you, the van is your home. Lots of other lovely places to see in France!
Maybe that man and woman were trying to have a secret romantic tryst and you two got in the way π
Sounds like you got it right. Well done ππβ€οΈ
Good call, be vigilant and stay safe, Jim
