Vancouver is a major city in Western Canada, located in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia. As the most populous city in the province, the 2021 Canadian census recorded 662,248 people in the city, up from 631,486 in 2016. The Metro Vancouver area had a population of 2.6 million in 2021, making it the third-largest metropolitan area in Canada. Greater Vancouver, along with the Fraser Valley, comprises the Lower Mainland with a regional population of over 3 million. Vancouver has the highest population density in Canada, with over 5,700 inhabitants per square kilometer (15,000/sq mi), and the fourth highest in North America (after New York City, San Francisco, and Mexico City).

Great video
👍
Love the PNW, would love more videos about the smaller cities like Tacoma, Everett, Victoria, Eugene, Bellingham and more
I was not expecting to see an Anton video about the city I live beside
Great video! I can tell how much effort you're putting into this.
Also, don't worry about the performance of this video too much, this is gonna be the hard part of your pivot. Your audience will grow once the algorithm finds them.
Gass town is a neighborhood within downtown. East Van is fine
Vancouver is not known as Gastown, Gastown is a tiny tourism enclave on the harbour.
thank you, Good work! im excited to vist vancouver properly, usually i get there and have a panic attack because of the tall buildings and look at the ground for the rest of teh trip.
🇨🇦
Is Fraser, not frasher! Haha
its pronounced burn-aby like abby
I think hongcouver is more known than gas town… no offense
You lost me at "Gastown"
The fact that you can still see the mountains as you walk the streets of Vancouver is actually the result of very deliberate urban planning, they call it "view corridors".
If you think there are a lot of Canadian flags in Vancouver, you should go to the US as a Canadian. We don't come anywhere close. Good video, though.
I was Born and Raised in Vancouver
Google Vancouver view cones. It's the reason you can see certain things at different points around the city. It has reduced the size of mega towers but keeps the city views.
You lost me at the first sentence. Obviously you don't know what you're talking about
also visit the people's republic of richmond!
also visit the people's republic of richmond!
The convention centre with the grass roof was built around 2010 … the original expo 86' convention centre is down the street and has a cruise ship dock
If Pamela Anderson is from Vancouver then I'm from Vancouver
As a Vancouverite (born’n raised) I am very impressed by your research and presentation. Very well done 👍🏼
Awesome video! Thank you! Glad you enjoyed your time here 🙂 The biggest thing about Vancouver for me is how the mountains always help you find North. I've been elsewhere in the world, and it always feels so weird not being able to orient myself based on the mountains. I feel so lost without them!
I live in Yaletown and I absolutely love it. I have found people to be relatively nice and have made new friends here. The walability, and livelihood of the neighborhood is so fun. It is ridiculously expensive but to us it is worth it
Vancouver isn’t “also known as Gastown”; Gastown is a small neighborhood in Vancouver that was the site of the original settlement that became the City of Vancouver.
a few notes – first off, loved the video – as a west end resident, i really liked that part – second – yes that sculpture at english bay is creepy af, most of us agree. Third – vancouver convention centre – only canada place part was built in 1986 for the worlds fair – the part you showed (the west building) was built for the 2010 olympics 🙂
you should have visited hastings street and go to the PNE amusment park and reveiw the wooden coaster
Gastown is a small neighbourhood in downtown, not a nickname for Vancouver.
Pacific Northwest typically just refers to Washington and Oregon. We typically just call it the West Coast.
It’s like a physical vortex that sucks all your money and soul into the abyss of corporate greed.
Pamela Anderson is from the Island
Very well researched and informative. Unfortunately video doesn't capture the majesty of the North Shore moutains, they're quite a sight, especially in winter. Will watch Seattle next.
this is fire, deserves more views
Great video, keep it up. I got some drone shots you can use for your Vancouver videos, hit me up.
Great video. Very well-researched as well. Your deep dive into the history of the city is one of the best on Youtube! It must have taken forever to edit.
BC/Metro Vancouver has exploded in population growth since COVID ended. Current population trends have Metro Vancouver at 3,100,000 and the greater Fraser Valley region at around 3.4 million.
Vancouver AKA Downtown East Side AKA Skidrow.
better safe then surrey
