Germany Walks : Europe’s largest train station (Leipzig)

Leipzig Hauptbahnhof is the central passenger station in Leipzig and is one of Deutsche Bahn’s 15 busiest long-distance stations with around 135,000 travellers and visitors every day. The railroad junction and terminus station with 23 platform tracks, 22 of which are used for passenger traffic, is one of DB InfraGO’s 21 stations in the highest price category. With a covered area of 83,640 square meters, the station building with its platform halls is the largest in Europe. The façade of the station building facing the city center is 298 meters wide.
