Tour of Regensburg ► along the old town with the famous sights

Come with us on a journey through one of Germany’s oldest cities, the beautiful Regensburg. Located on the Danube in southeastern Germany, the city is known for its well-preserved medieval old town. Regensburg is the fourth-largest city in Bavaria, following Munich, Nuremberg, and Augsburg. One of its most famous landmarks is the 310-meter-long Stone Bridge from the 12th century. Another key attraction is the Gothic cathedral from the 13th century with its twin towers. But Regensburg is famous for something truly special. Near the Stone Bridge, at the Danube Whirlpool, stands the historic Wurstkuchl, which has been around for over 500 years. Back in the Middle Ages, stonemasons and dockworkers enjoyed their meals there, and many things have stayed the same to this day: the open charcoal grill, the homemade sausages made from pure pork ham, the sauerkraut from their own fermentation cellar, and the well-known Wurstkuchl mustard.
