Bacharach am Rhein from above 🏰 | Autumn in Germany 🇩🇪 | DJI Mini 4Pro | 4K cinematic drone

This is part two of my motorcycle trip with my precious KTM Duke 890 R late autumn 2024 to capture the beautiful colours of the vineyards around the Middle Rhine Valley. Bacharach am Rhein is a medieval town located in a very picturesque part of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town fortifications from the 14th century are among the best preserved in the Middle Rhine area and considered a hidden gem of the Rhine river. Enjoy Bacharach am Rhein and surroundings in fall foilage colours.

I recorded the drone footage with an ND 64 filter in 4K HLG color profile and 60fps (white balance set to 6100K, ISO to 100 and shutter speed ranging from 1/120s to 1/200s). Moreover I applied a film look (Rochester as core look with about 40% blend) and motion blurr to achieve a more cinematic look. In post processing the Color Space Transformation was done with Input Color Space: DJI D-Gamut and Input Gamma: Rec.2100 HLG (Scene) as well as Output Color Space: use timeline; Output Gamma: use timeline. Moreover I adjusted the shadows, highlights, tint, temperature and colors (using Color Split) and applied the filmlook with only adjusting the exposure, substractive saturation and richness. At last I desharpened the footage a tad and added some motion blurr.

The motorcycle ride was recorded with the DJI Action 2 in 4K 60 fps D-Cinelike extra wide in automatic mode with the white balance set to 6100K. Post processing was applied like described above for the drone footage.

I finally rendered the video in 4K 60 fps using a constant bitrate of 60000 kb/s
