The majestic Val-de-Grâce district is centered around the former military training hospital of the same name, which houses the Val-de-Grâce church, a 17th-century building topped with a frescoed dome. University buildings dot the area, including the Pierre-et-Marie-Curie science campus, home to the Curie Museum, which features exhibits on radioactivity in the chemist’s former laboratory. The neighborhood’s alleyways are lined with cafés, brasseries, and bakeries.
