  1. ❤ your videos!!
In regards to the sticker, that could FALL off.. Can someone just take a picture of themselves wearing it and that could be your identification? My eyesight is terrible. I would love to go to japan & hear all the différent….

  2. Great video as usual. Japan has such great and unique rail experiences. I wish my country had something similar as well. As other people have mentioned, the bento box looks so nice. Does anyone here know what happens to these boxes once used? Are they re-used / recycled or are the passengers allowed to take them home? Looking forward to the next video 🙂

  3. I agree that it was pricey for that ticket. While the train is beautiful, I would have expected the seating to be more comfortable where you could recline a bit or put feet up instead of sitting upright in front of a table for over 5 hours. And serving a paper coffee cup with the sake? That's cheap. They could've at least given you a glass or even plastic.

The train was overpriced, whether you like the decor is one thing, actually the bento looked delicious but there is a problem when JR is offering a premium experience, investing a lot of money in expensive rolling stock, to run them on an unstable trackbed which makes the ride so bumpy that fine dining is impossible. I ride regularly along the rail corridor from New York to Boston, and while the first class menu on the elite Acela (and passenger seating) is not even close to what is offered here, the menu is more realistic in terms of the actual dining experience.

  5. Such exquisite decor. The use of paper cups, especially, for your sake, was out of kilter with the otherwise elegance. The lunch box was a work of art. I think the motion of the train would have made me sick.

  6. I love how each compartment, has a DANISH Poul Henningsen table lamp, very stylish!
Drinking out of a paper cup? Plastic bowls? Wooden spoon👎🏼
The curry looked nasty and cheap.
What’s with the Japanese curtain? It would drive me crazy, how it’s moving, no idea why there ain’t privacy doors.
    That’s a no from me!

  7. For 390K yen, the dining service could have at least offered some metal silverware, huh. The food and drink are fine enough, but the implements really could use a touch-up, even if glass cups are inviable, and the wood spoon just looked cheap.

  8. Bepppuuuuu ….. Bepppuuuuu….. Beeeppuuuuuu
That curry looked a little average. Definitely as it said on the menu "Snack" not a real meal worth purchasing.
    Thanks for sharing.

  9. I've been to Japan on business many, many times over about a 35-year span. As a joke, I'd write 39 and tell someone to say that in Japanese. Then I'd reply you're welcome. Most would get it right away, many would not.
I've spent a lot of time in Kumamoto. Many trips were over 5 weeks, some as long as 7. I got along well with the customer and the local team. So, I'd always be requested to that site.
Kumamoto is very nice. The people are friendly, it's clean and easy to drive around the area. I'd walk into a small mom and pop restaurant because of the smells, the menu on plaques with vertical characters, no pictures, no dishes in the window. I was illiterate. I'd tell them what I liked and say feed me. I always had a delicious meal.
I can say "dai nama beeru", a large draft beer, add kuru for a dark beer. I'd sometimes go to parties with a university professor friend. The office had an end of the year overnight party at a small coastal hotel . 3 to a room on futons. On the way up, it dawned on me that I didn't ask about the toilets. As we entered the room, I opened and closed the bathroom door with a sigh of relief. My roomies laughed! Good? One said.
