Joen is correct, modern medicine is obviously the way to treat your illnesses. Humans are easily deceived into thinking something have value that sincerely do not for example diamonds industrial medicine hopefully make sure that the distribution of ingredients is consistent. Amelia believes medicine will work which internally makes her feel better.. I feel more confident science based information than emotional medicine.
Joen, modern medicine would recommend that you strengthen your stomach muscles if your back is hurting. use isometric exercises if necessary. Oh no, I forgot you guys think of mushroom will make you feel better. Just kidding mushrooms might be delicious, but I donβt think they have any other value than flavor or getting high.

Yeah for you as foreigners but not for locals. You all came to the city and said this cheap and that cheap because using USD/EURO but imaging as a local spent that much money. Expectations and realities are 2 different things. Nothing is cheap for local where some avg salary is 17.3 million Dong (VND), which is roughly $697 USD per month. So cheap for you as foreigners but not for locals. Think before saying cheap this cheap that. @joenandamalie

One note… the world is a lot different now than it was years ago (specifically when you last visited Vietnam). Those people at the night market are just trying to make a living. $17 isn't bad for 2 items of clothing that would cost a lot more elsewhere. but more than that, people are people and they're just trying to earn money and live like the rest of us. #unsolicitedadvice

Not the cheapest city in Asia. I've been here for 20 years and can attest to that.
HCM is deffo not the cheapest. We went north to south and noticed how much more expensive HCM was. They also chucked on tourist tax whenever we got bills in bars and restaurants.
U understand shopping, always bargains n start 50% n have fun. Btw, remember, made in China? Now, VN made it there, no fake, π
