    Hat Poma das Rumpeln verlernt? Die wilde neue Seilbahn Bellecôte in La Plagne – Paradiski

    Raus aus der Talstation, kurz umgeschaut und schon geht es steil den Berg hinab. Klingt ungewöhnlich? Ist es auch. Doch am Roche de Mio im Skigebiet von La Plagne erleben im Winter wie im Sommer tausende Fahrgäste täglich genau dieses Szenario. Die moderne Kabinenbahn zum Glacier de Bellecôte ist eine Anlage mit vielen Gesichtern. Der unkonventionelle Auftakt ist da nur eine Besonderheit unter vielen.

      Yeah, I fondly remember the old gondola to Roche de Mio and the glaciers.
      During a windy whiteout day, it was quite the thrill ride, with cabins that had gaps between the hulls as they didn't always close properly tight.
      Getting stuck on it for quite a long time wasn't so amusing, though, especially in blizzard conditions.
      La Plagne is very nice, I vividly remember a breathtaking fairytale view when descending to Belle Plagne on a sunny late morning from the ridge over Montchavin – les Coches (East), with sparkling glitter in the air (there were a few snow cannons running and wind blowing).
      Absolutely marvelous, surreal, magical, and whimsical.

      The Plagne Bellecote "wall or dam building" is often disliked by many, but I've always found it fascinating, especially the elevator halls that are like circular rooms surrounded by colored elevator doors.
      It's a building typical of the 70's that is built a bit like a dam across the valley.
      That's the thing with La Plagne's huge ski resort, it's like a set of different villages, each with their own style and ambiance.
