That presentation was awesome. Unfortunately, setting up an account for a weekly pass is not possible. The app keeps telling me that the service is not available. Is anyone having the same issue?
So I can purchase 1 navigo easy pass and add both Metro and Bus Tickets without any problem of validation the moment I pass it through the machines!? I am so scared of the €65 fine you could get 😅
Excellent and comprehensive information. I tried to set up IDF mobilites app but could not because it was asking for a French phone number? How can I get around it? Thanks.
Argh. We arrive on a Sunday, so I will have to pay the $13 for that day from the airport to Paris, and then the Weekly the next day on Monday – I could have just got the Weekly if I had arrived on Monday. 🙂
Another fun video. Lots learned. Merci
Thank you soooomuch!!! This is really useful!!!
Thanks for the very useful video!
The only thing I don't understand is if I can transfer from the metro to the RER with a 2.50 metro ticket, can I transfer between the tram and the bus? Do I need to buy two tickets (bus/tram) if I plan to take the tram and then transfer to the bus?
So I could just purchase 2 day passes (1 each day) for the 2 days that I am in Paris, and it would cover the metro and busses both? Thanks!
謝謝分享~
It appears that YouTube reply is not working properly. You asked me what kind of phone I was using. I am using a Samsung S24 Ultra. I also noticed that I can buy individual tickets but not the weekly pass because I would need to register. The service of setting up an account is not available.
Having issue to create a new account . I’m using iPhone 16 pro max . 😢
When I visited Paris last October 2024 I stayed in Montmartre but I didn’t take the metro at all . Instead I took Uber to all the places I went and I avoided being pick pocked . I budgeted for and I left Paris less stressed out
Bonjour Alain. The Navigo card is much like the Beep Card we use here in Manila, Philippines or the EZ Link card used in Singapore also the Octopus card in Hong Kong. Tried the Paris Metro on my visit to Paris and went around the different French regions, just returned home via Air France on a 13hr flight from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Manila, I had a wonderful time in France and I can't wait to return in July. Merci beaucoup et À Bientôt Paris.
Excellent video, thank you. However, on the NavigoEasy ticket option (for when you already have a Navigo pass), why is the machine prompting the user to select number of passengers if the Navigo can only be used by ONE passenger? Isn't this a bit confusing? Surely the machine knows there is only one passenger because you have one Navigo? I understand the number of tickets info, not the number of passenger info.
Great video as always… coming back next week to Paris😊
Great video! I have one question if I may. If traveling in a group where some travelers do not have a smartphone (e.g. elderly or children) can I still use my smartphone to buy and validate for their journies on the metro? Thank you
Alain,
Just FYI….just tried to create an account, to purchase a NAVIGO card, got message saying that the "service is not available at this time". Hope it's just a system error. Jan 16, 2025.
Merci
I am using an iPhone 14. I am still in US trying to set up app and purchase ticket for upcoming trip. When I try to set up account I get message that the service is not available. I removed the app and reloaded. I get the same message. Can't find an answer on the internet as to why.
Beware!!! Orlybus close service in March 2025.
Great video. Thank you !!
Thank for the detailed and excellent information, I think I missed how to place a picture in the navigo card that can hold the weekly pass, does the card have a glue square to stick a picture or there is a way to imprint a digital photo? I think this card can't be purchased in the machine but only with a sales attendant, correct? Thanks
Excellent, thank you!
Merci beaucoup for this very informative and easy to understand presentation.
I really appreciate you for this video. In a few days I will be in Paris, a complete stranger, and thanks to you I know very well how the transportation works:)
I'm Parisian and I can confirm this video is be far the most comprehensive tuto on the new 2025 fare system, and subtility.
hi! is it possible to buy the Navigo Decouverte + Weekly Pass via online/app while not in Paris? I'll be in Brussels on a Thursday and arriving to Paris on a Friday :/ thanks for all the useful info!
Hi, totally separate question not related to this video………….. what are your thoughts about a hotel in Paris called, Voco paris – Porte de Clincy? Specifically about the location, and the safty? Enjoy watching your videos. Thanks.
Super informative, very professional, and easy to understand! Merci beaucoup Alan😊!
Excellent presentation. Very easy to follow.
Thank you so much for the video!! I am going to Paris in a few days and I have a question about Navigo Easy Pass!! I am staying there for 5 days and if I purchase one Navigo Easy Pass for 2 euros can I use it for 5 days to load extra ticket in it? Or should I get the Découverte Pass?
Thanks for the rich information! Question: if transferring from Metro to Train, another ticket has to be paid?. I´ll appreciate your answer.
Do i need to validate my ticket on my phone separately or just placing in purple area will do it at the time of travel?
Can somebody please tell me how to use a single Ticket for a Train or bus at the ticket turnstile or on the bus after I purchase it? I mean do I have to open up the mobile app before tapping on or do I have to add the tickets to Samsung Wallet or how actually?
You can out tram amd metro tickets on a navigo? How will the system know?
This video is a masterpiece ! Congratulations ! As the Devil is hidden in details, i’ll add this :
10:21 You will be able take a liberté + pass, available on phone during this year which allows transfers between rail and street.
10:53 The rail (metro/rer/transilien) tickets are valid for 2h from 1st validation to the exit of the network, and for the street (bus/tram) it’s 1h30 max between 1st and last validation.
11:14 Trams express 11 to 13 are considered as trains for the tickets.
17:01 Good example. But be careful of two limits of this calculation : The airport trips have to be done in the same M-S calendar week, and the orlyval shuttle between the rer B and the airport is not included in the pass, even though it’s less of a problem with the metro 14 now going there, tourists should be wary of it.
The inclusion of the music from Ratatouille was an adorable touch!
Thankyou, brilliant video. One question, how can I register in the app to buy a weekly pass without a french telephone number? It does not allow my country code . Thanks
Excellent video, it makes my trip clearer to me. One question please, until what time are the Navigo Decouverte sold at train or metro stations? I arrive at my hotel at 6:00 p.m. and I would like to buy it to go out that same night. Thank you.
Amount of personal information you have to give up for using the app is insane. Your photo, phone number, email, name and it also requests various access permissions for your device. I'm surprised it doesn't ask for your DNA and fingerprint.
Hello! I want to get the navigo decouverte card cause i cant create an account as i dont have a France phone number. Can i get one in Orly Airport? Do you happen to know where?
Great presentation. One note though, for IDF mobilite, it seems one needs a French phone number…?
