Amalfi Coast Hiking | The Path of the Gods, Italy
Italy’s Path of the Gods on the Amalfi Coast is one of the most breathtaking hikes in the world. The Path of the Gods (Sentiero degli Dei) is a historic clifftop trail running along Italy’s Amalfi Coast, between mountainside hamlet of Bomerano (in Agerola) and Nocelle, a fraction of Positano nestled on the slopes of Monte Peruso. In the past, this was the only way for locals to get from one town to the other. With some of the best views of the Amalfi Coast, the Path of the Gods is traveled annually by thousands of tourists. The hikers are rewarded with stunning views of the Amalfi coastline and a spectacular scenery of the surrounding mountains descending in the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Even it is generally considered a manageable hike, hiking the Path of the Gods can be challenging at times due to the steep climb and rough terrain. It’s a rocky, uneven trail at points, so you may need to wear hiking shoes. You should also take into consideration your fitness level and if you have a fear of heights as some parts are looking out over a steep drop. At the very beginning of the video, you can see a rescue team arriving to start their search of a hiker crashed into a cliff on the Path of the Gods. After searching into the dense vegetation, the rescue teams found the 21 years old woman lifeless, after she accidentally fallen several tens of meters. Remember to wear comfortable clothing and trekking shoes, to bring with you sunglasses and protective cream, rain jacket, backpack, water bottle and trekking poles.

The most common walk starts from Bomerano to Nocelle and it is considered easy to moderate, walking at a elevation between 450 and 650 meters with a total ascent of 215 meters and a total descent of 410 meters. It takes about 2-3 hours to complete. If you choose to continue the hike from Nocelle to Positano, you realize you still had 1700 steps to take down to Positano, so the difficulty level increases. You will have a total ascent is 235 meters and a total descent is 780 meters to walk. The walk will take at least an extra hour to be completed. All in all, consider around 4 hours for the entire hike. After walking on one of the most gorgeous trails in the world, you’ll arrive in Positano, the most famous and iconic place on the Amalfi Coast, a picturesque town perched on a green, rocky cliff between Amalfi and Sorrento. You can see Positano in a dedicated video!

Set between the mountains and the sea, the Amalfi Coast is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site and it is one of Italy’s most memorable destinations. Located in the Campania region of Italy, the Amalfi Coast displays sky-high costal cliffs raised from the turquoise waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The coast with its picturesque and multicolored seaside towns offers the traveler probably the most stunning views in Italy.

Ciao e buona serata Daniela😊😊😊😊
