Living in Vietnam SUCKS. Here’s Why.

Vietnam is def the biz, i lived in a local neighborhood just outside of Hanoi for 5 months and i was the only foreigner there. Checked out da nang for a week a few months ago and going back in April and stickin around for a month.

2 years in Da Nang so far. I'm gonna stay for a while because of the safety and low cost of living.
Interesting and unexpected to me was my realization that the effects of the American war are not over. Let me start with the unexploded bombs. The estimates of the number of people killed by these bombs are all different but rest assured American bombs are still killing people here.
Now, on to the most gut-wrenching and soul crushing experience of my life. There's a hospital for children here in Da Nang. This hospital treats children who suffer the effects of agent orange 'Dioxin'! What I saw crushed my spirit and soul. It humiliated me. Words can not describe it. How could we as humans have done this to others?
Maybe I am too empathic but I was totally ashamed to be a human. I think I need to do something. Start making my own videos and raise money for them? I don't know how to start to erase these memories or at least come to grips with them.
What do you think Wes? What do the rest of you think? Would any of you donate to something that assisted these children? My memories haunt me at times. In particular, 'The smiling face of a little girl with no hands.' Nothing could have ever prepared me for that.

By my side as Vietnamese I agree it not really peaceful like every foreigners think it, it always have traffic jam, dirty, pollution and some uncultured also guile, even I have my uncle or friend from Us,Canada and Germany and I have tell them how bad when in Ben Thanh or Independent Palace and i hate it
At least Vietnam is a not bad choice for everyone to visit and also peaceful country and kindness for everyone even Vietnamese each other Vietnamese our will always help in any situation as they can so I still proud my country

Traffic, pollution is a world wide problem, not just Viêt Nam. Go to New York, Pékin, Tokyo …. Indeed, Viêt Nam does not have an eleborate public transport system. But again, do you have a good one in Los Angeles, San Jose, just a few big advanced American cities. The traffic in VN is their identity. Yes it might be a nuisance. Cleanliness, I think Sai Gon is cleaner than Paris, sorry but when you walk in Paris streets, you see dog excrements everywhere. You can see rats in the streets of New York.
All he said is true regarding to traffic and pollution and cleanliness, BUT, everything is relative and you have to weigh in different factors when you choose where to retire or live. And for me, I will rather retire in any cities in VN than any occidental cities such as New York, LA, San Francisco, Paris, Rome , Barcelona, Florence , Venise, Berlin, Prague, Lisbon.

I appreciate the video but it is really ironic that you claim to be Chinese yet China is filthy, has poor hygiene, rotten infrastructure, lots of traffic with no rules and lots of accidents, China stinks like coal and piss that runs straight into the rivers. When it rains it is black rain in some areas from pollution, you can't drink the water. There are rats everywhere. They are xenophobic and while one can get a tourist visa one also has to report to police stations if they move around. China is NOT a first world country. It just pretends to be. I think, due to your accent, that you are American who is pretending to be Chinese.
