Narva: At Russia’s Borders! Get this close to Russia BUT NO CLOSER!
Join us on a journey to Narva, Estonia’s third city at the border with Russia! With Philip, explore imposing fortresses in Narva and Ivangorod, and learn about the increasingly difficult situation at the border between Russia and Estonia. At the same time discover some of the history and charm of Narva and Ivangorod. Plus, on a very cold day in the Baltic, get to experience all the challenges Philip faces to buy a ticket on the scenic train journey from Tallinn to Narva in this exciting travel video!
We also discover that probably the closest border restaurant to Russia anywhere in the Baltics is named ‘Old Trafford’. We hope that Manchester United fans everywhere are happy about that!

Does anyone else know where you can get this close to the Russian border and actually ‘see sights’ in Russia without actually crossing the border? Does anyone else know any restaurants named after ‘Old Trafford’ around the world?!
Southern Estonia borders with Pskov. Otherwise lake Peipsi. They’ll be others in southern Estonia that you can just walk through. Most people think the war with Russia is ridiculous.
Another very interesting look at a place less travelled Philip – sounds like you had a lucky escpae with those Russian border guards back in the day… the brown envelope saving you from a trip to the gulag haha!!
😀👍
Very interesting, Philip!
I think that is close enough for sightseeing there!
You can get closer to Russia at the No/Fi/Ru tripoint. Its not easy to get to, but its a must go to, for those seeking places out of the ordinary.
Get a drone….. 😊
