  1. I am laughing SO HARD at some of the funny comments and comparisons.. i still REALLY appreciate the tips though! Not everyone have to take the long Glacier express train ride, some just want to see the nature and is content on a regional train!❤

  2. There are no direct region trains from Zermatt to St. Moritz, whereas the railway ticket price for the entire journey will be pretty much the same for any type of trains. The only difference is that you have to pay an additional reservation fee if you choose the express, but for such a long journey it's worth it. Just imagine jumping from one region train to another with your luggage.

  3. That is only a fraction of the Glacier Express route. It only takes just a bit over an hour from Visp to Zermatt. The Glacier express experience does in no way compare to your short trip

  4. totally agree with the most comments here. If someone is taking the glacier express from Chur to Zermat, what is your opinion guys? Earlier, someone suggested taking the regional trains, but I think it will need to change how many trains? Just asking for information. Though I feel that Galacia Xpress is convenient here.

Also how is that journey from Chur to Zermat? A small section of the route is Missed though of course. people say that some parts near chur are the least beautiful

  5. I guess if you like an eight hours scenic train ride then go for the glacier express but if like for some who don’t have the luxury of spending eight hours on the train then this is it! Thanks for sharing 👍🏾

  6. The Glacier Express goes from St. Moritz/Chur to Zermatt, Visp to Zermatt is only a small part of this journey. This comparison does not make sense. Of course when you go from Visp to Zermatt it's useless.

  7. I completely agree with you on using regional trains, but what you are comparing here is a false equivalence. The Glacier Express goes from Zermatt all the way to St Moritz, that’s why it takes 8 hours (and costs a lot more than £19 to do that route even on a regional train). What you did was a very small portion of the route up the valley to Zermatt from Visp

  8. you can do the entire Glacier Express route from St. Moritz to Zermatt on *the same tracks* for the price of a day pass (GA aka Generalabo). You need to change a couple of times though:
    St. Moritz – Chur
Chur – Disentis/Mustér (to change from Rhätische Bahn to Matterhorn-Gotthardbahn)
    Disentis/Mustér – Andermatt
    Andermatt – Visp
    Visp – Zermatt

I did this route (in the other direction) over the course of two days and it's definitely worth it! Personally I uses Interrail, but you can get a GA for as little as 50 CHF and it allows unlimited travel on (almost) every railway, bus, tram, cable car in Switzerland.

  9. Im so happy someone told me this a month before i was gonna go 😅as a student, this is a BIG DEAL and I love that they covered the window point too! Definitely taking this one rn

  10. Maybe because Visp-Zermatt through St Nikkolaus is 1/5th of the Journey!

By the way it isn’t really a Regional Railway as it isn’t operated by SBB and it is a Cog Rail.

    Good Video though!
