I have been using this card in restaurants in Asia and collect 5x since february 2024.
Scotia Amex gold has been my go to card for US travel for about 4 years now, I haven’t noticed anything more than 1x points but will keep my eyes posted.
I'd recommend staying far away from Westjet Vacations. I went to Vegas on a Westjet Vacations package recently and due to weather, Westjet will not honor any compensation so you must talk with Westjet Vacations. Westjet Vacations cancelled our hotel and I had to call in four different instances, yet when I got to the hotel I needed to get a new reservation. Westjet Vacations doesn't give compensation for cancelled flights due to weather and stated if Westjet cancelled your flight talk to them. It's a horrible loop. I'm hoping insurance on the Westjet RBC card covers me. Still waiting to hear from them.
Did you say the Scotia Amex card lets you earn points on purchase outside Canada and no FX fees?! But you earn Scene points right?
Last trip in Japan was very lucrative. Canadian dollar was weak but at least, I earn 5x on 50% of my purchases.

I want to get a "better" No FX fees card than the HT Visa but I don't really want another high AF CC. A moderate AF I'd be okay with.
