This is our day 3 of driving from Ontario to Alberta (Jasper/Banff). This drive was the longest and the most boring drive in my opinion. We planned this drive to be 12 hours because due to Covid-19, we’re not allowed to stop in Manitoba due to their quarantine restrictions. We left quite early so that the kids won’t feel tired. We literally picked up them and put them in the van. I wanted to get a Tim Hortons but because i was leaving around 4am, finding one that was open 24 hours was quite a challenge. Wife managed to find out and we stopped quickly to grab our coffees and were on our way. Driving at night on the trans Canada Highway can be quite scary. My fear during the whole drive is running into moose, bears, deers and so on. We were lucky to find a trucker who was keeping a good speed. We stayed behind this truck for quite some time to keep us safe. We knew a time change was coming but wasn’t exactly sure when and where but we end up earning an hour behind. Noticed our cellphones times changed almost immediately after reaching the town called Raith, Ontario. The drive itself was ok.. flat and trees on both sides.. when stopped over once in Kenora, Ontario. Our goal was to keep a full tank as much as possible so in order to do that we stopped there to pump gas which was around the 1.08$ per liter and we pumped full tank. Kenora, Ontario is another small town but bigger than most of the other towns we passed. Entrance to Manitoba was uneventful. There was a welcome sign. We didn’t realize that the gas price in Manitoba was a lot cheaper. A litre was going for 1$. We did called the city before to ask for their quarantine restrictions and were told that we could stop for gas. Now to think about it, we could have saved some money. The rest of the drive was literally boring and i’m not saying this in any bad way. The scenery wasn’t fun at all.
