  1. Just one clarification: Notre Dame didn't "burn down" as was stated at the beginning. Its spire, roof, and a large part of the interior were destroyed or significantly damaged, but it was not completely re-built from the ground up. Having said that, the restoration job is amazing!

  2. I was there Dec till January went to visit twice. Well buying candles now you can use credit card. They added the chinese saint i think. Looks different than before

  3. The tradition of lighting a candle and saying a prayer is one that is open to people of all faiths, and genuinely adds to the sense of being a part of the cathedral — the light of your candle continues to illuminate the interior even after you have left the building, which just…feels really nice. I don't know how much they are charging for candles right now, but I'd advise keeping your actual purse/wallet deep inside of your zipped-up coat, and keeping several euros (5-10) in single-euro, multi-euro, and 50-centimes pieces in your coat pocket. That way you don't have to fumble in your wallet (and show pick-pockets where your wallet actually is), you can pay for and light your candle, and spend however long you like offering up your prayer, or simply being in peaceful silence, eyes open or close, without having to worry if someone should brush against you.

  4. I was so fortunate to visit last month when I was there. It was my dream to go there and even more so after the terrible tragedy. It did not disappoint! The reconstruction and work that has been done is marvelous and you truly can feel the magic of faith and love with the strength of rebuilding. We all owe a debt of gratitude to all those who made that work possible. Also, I was even lucky enough that they had the crown of thorns out for people to kiss.

  5. In November 1980, I spent the entire month in Paris, and some time in Notre-Dame attending Mass. Subsequently, I traveled to a few European cities in December 1980 and returned for a "light and sound tableau" in Notre-Dame de Paris a week or so before Christmas. It was spectacular and the standout from my initial visit in 1972 and a later one in 1995. However, the interior of the cathedral was always quite dark. The videos of Notre-Dame de Paris burning in April 2019 were heartbreaking, presaging the declaration of the pandemic nearly a year later. Thank you, "Les Frenchies," for the video showing Notre-Dame's interior flooded with light!! The cathedral is resplendent and appropriately well-lit nearly nine centuries later!! ❤❤❤

  6. Also, at the beginning when Colleen is so excited about walking in, around the central portal, you see two statues. In case you don’t know because they’re not liable, the one on the left represents the church triumphant, the New Testament and Christianity. The one on the right, blindfolded, her crown fallen, holding two tablets upside down with a broken staff, the old testament, synagogue defeated. Very medieval. Originals in Musée de Cluny.

  7. Lady Frenchie didn’t strike me as a religious type that would get off on being baptized anywhere. Shows how deep the Catholic propaganda cuts. It’s beautiful in there, but the lighting seems off and way too bright. Looks like LED lights. They should change it to a nice warm glow not stark white lights everywhere. Glad you showed it to me though. I don’t have to go now so thanks.

  8. Your videos have helped me so much! In 2023 I went to Paris for the first time in over 14 years and I would've been completely lost with how things are if it wasn't for you guys! Thank you so much for making Paris still feel like a second home for me. ❤❤❤❤❤

  9. The funny thing is that while to us French people Notre-Dame is the most iconic cathedral in France, it is not the most beautiful. But we were in tears when we saw it burning up. I’m so glad it was saved by our incredible Paris fire department.

  10. I love ❤️ Mary too. Our blessed mother. Thank you for such a helpful and informative vlog. Will be in Paris in August can’t wait. Hope to see you then. God bless you both 🙏

  11. Do you need tickets or reservation? We are from
Usa so I can plan getting there? I do not mind waiting in line as long as it foes not take hours to be in line. Is there advance like 2-3 months online reservations? Thank u

  12. Very informative as always. Seems like it's not worth it to skip getting a ticket — and it's so easy. Is the park on the river side and behind the cathedral open? I have fond memories of the cherry tree blossoms there and am hoping to see them again this spring.
