  1. Something similar occurred to me in Tbilisi, Georgia. I was walking when I was stopped by a monk, except he spoke in Chinese and couldn’t understand anything he was saying. He first pressed two fingers against my forehead, probably “blessing” me, and then he gave me a bracelet before asking for money. I gave the bracelet back and quickly walked away. Ngl, these people need to be locked up.

  2. One thing to look out for to tell if it's a real monk or not… real monks wear sandles, fake monks wear runners/trainers or any other shoes

  3. I could see right away that he wasn't a real monk and how could I have seen that. He had pants on underneath, a monk would never wear that.

  4. If someone comes up to you to "give" you a "gift", do not accept. This happens all over the world. Anyone being aggressive about giving you something for "free" has an agenda.

  5. even if i didn’t know it was a scam i would still say “Im not buddhist, i dont pray to a god that isn’t my religion, and why would they randomly build a giant temple in nyc”

  6. Another scam is people claiming to be working for a charity that helps the homeless and not letting you pass by then verbally harassing you for just trying to get where you're trying to go. I blame the liberals of New York City for allowing such harassments to go on and even though I didn't vote for Trump hope that New York begins to change its attitude towards thugs who harass people for no reason and verbally assail them when they just try to go on their way.
