I have found, buy booking well in advance, there's often not a huge difference between business class and standard class fares. The extra space is always appreciated on busy routes. Also, I've been caught out a few times missing the link to select seats. If you miss this, you may end up automatically allocated at a table of four, which isn't a comfortable experience. There's also a game I call Railway Roulette. Guess the true platform number. There's a habit of changing platform numbers at the last moment, so always keep checking. This is probably why passengers aren't invited onto the platforms at Roma Termini, for example, until ten minutes before departure. A great video and a new subscriber.
I had a hard time with trains in Italy. They kept changing the platform! I ended up in Bologna twice even though I was going to Trieste!
Love trains
People think that trains in Italy are often late and that's true a good portion of them are, but compared to all other European countries believe me or not Italy's trains were the most punctual of them all (even Switzerland).
Are you from Russia Anastacia? You're English is very good…im studying English but i need practice
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Simpatica , gesticoli quasi come noi 🙂
I have been there last 2019. Travelling by train is excitement .
Your vibe is fabulous 🥰🩵🍀
How do we use ur travel agency services to Italy??
We plan to be in Italy in March. Thank you for explaining.
What about eurail passes
I am coming to Europe this summer and was thinking about getting a Eurail pass as I will be visiting a number of countries over 90 days. 30 of which will be in Italy. Is it worth purchasing the Eurail pass?
How about commuting within the city itself after speed train. Do we have to buy that separately?
Love your videos they are so helpful, but I had a question about booking train tickets! I just booked a ticket from Firenze to Roma on TrenItalia, but didn't realize I used the website RailClick instead of the real website. Have you heard of this and/or should I be worried about the authenticity of my ticket?
Excellent Video. Thank you very much.
We will be taking a fast train from Venice to Rome, and will tranfer to a regional train to Tivoli. Do we need any extra preparations when changing from a fast train to a regional train?
If I buy online the ticket for the train and it has a change and I miss the change, do I need to buy another ticket, or can I take just another train in the same direction?
Thank you so much for this useful info. Please, I booked from Rome to Zurich. I need to change the train in Milan, and I have only 30 minutes. Is it okay for me, or did I make a mistake?
I dove in feet first to the deep end. I had absolutely NO experience with train travel. If you are like me, just know, it is not like a plane. There is little to no luggage space, especially during local holidays. You also must handle your own luggage…all of it. I did this with a dislocated hip and broken foot. Also, many train platforms are outside. And some of them are under construction and elevators might be out of order. In Pescara, it was difficult to find the train arrival/depart boards. But security was very helpful. Clean bathrooms? Never found one. Intercity was the worst and bathrooms were no better than outhouses. That all said? One helluva adventure and would not have skipped it! I even hopped on the wrong train and still made my destination.
How far in advance is the best time to buy intercity train tickets?
