Finishing off a 4 week journey across western Europe in Both Luxembourg and the city of Frankfurt. From Dinant, Belgium, I arrived in Luxembourg City killing time walking about the city until my couchsurfing host got off work. Before even settling in, I joined my new Italian friend with some of his friend to celebrate St. Patricks Day with some beers and good music. A lot of people brush off Luxembourg to visit more known places in Germany, France, and Belgium not giving this little country a change. It’s interesting other than the fact it’s small, it has a beautiful landscape, with beautiful castles, villages, and an interesting language, Luxembourgish.
Despite having a bad cold, I still managed to make my way up to the north to stroll around the quiet town of Esch-sur-Sure and the infamous Vianden where it’s town castle sits high up overlooking the town and beyond. If I wasn’t sick, I probably would have attempted to do more, but I was happy to kill my curiosity about this place. After a 5 hour bus ride and a good nap, I arose to a new day in a new city, Frankfurt, Germany. Also my second time in Germany in two years. Although my time in Frankfurt was solely for a flight to Istanbul, I still managed to bring me and my terrible cold around the city to explore and do what I do best, travel. Next day, my journey in Western Europe came to an end only to begin a grander journey across the Balkans. 🙂 Cheers and stay tuned!!
