Nerja Andalusia Spain
Yes we are back to one of our favourite places – Nerja, Andalusia, Spain.
This time we did some local walks and bike rides.
We also managed some wine and dining in Nerja.
The Nerja Feria – although we did get the timing/day wrong but eventually caught a glimpse.
Then the Nerja 4 x 4 club put on a display in the carpark close to the beach. A few days prior to this event there were a few large diggers building the course. The event itself was worth a visit and plenty to watch. Also a very large paella was being made. We, however, could see the black clouds approaching over the mountains so headed back before the paella was ready. The black clouds were extremetly black and the thunderstorms that arrived called cyclona DANA in Spain caused major havoc further up the coast in the Valencia region. (DANA is upper-level isolated atmospheric depression). We have never experienced continuous rumbling thunder for over 24 hours. Apparently there were also 20,000 plus lightening strikes in the Nerja region.
