Midwest Express Airlines operated as “Milwaukee’s Hometown Airline” for over 25 years. They were known for their exceptional service and outstanding inflight product which was comparable to a first class product at the time. This Low Cost carrier made a big name for itself in economy/coach class providing free onboard-baked chocolate chip cookies, wine, and meals all served in wide, comfortable leather seats.

Eventually, the market forces of the time caught up with them, and the airline went through many changes to try and stay profitable. This included abandoning some of the amenities that made them famous such as wide-seats in every row and free meals. Despite all the shake-ups in service and aircraft over the airline’s run, one thing remained constant throughout Midwest’s life: the free onboard-baked chocolate chip cookie.
