St Ives is a town in the county of Cornwall, southwest England. It is a highly popular holiday destination for people in both the United Kingdon and mainland Europe. The town has a permanent population of 10-15,000 but an estimated 1million people visit each year. St Ives has been home to some of the worlds best know artists and sculptors, such as JMW Tuner, Barbara Hepworth, Bernard Leach, Henry Moor, Henry Irving and Whistler.
Land’s End is the most westerly point in England and second most westerly point (marginally) of the mainland United Kingdom. It is situated on the Penwith peninsula at the western end of the A30 road. The peninsula is a popular place to visit due to its stunning scenery and the diverse eco system that attracts a variety of different wildlife. Land’s End is also the start/finish point of the end to end journeys with John o’ Groats in Scotland.
The B3306 is a stretch of road that runs from St Ives to St Just in western Cornwall, and then on through to the A30 which terminates at Land’s End. It is also known as the West Cornwall Coast Road and considered one of the most scenic roads in the United Kingdom.
